MemberMy outlet is across the room and I don’t want a cord stretching over the floor. Does the Back Restore have to stay plugged in while you use it, or can you charge it and then move it? The manual is vague. I’m not looking for a debate on whether it works, just want to know if I can use it away from the wall.

MemberMine only runs while it’s plugged in, no battery in it at all. I tried unplugging it once mid-session and it just died right away, so it stays near an outlet.

Carla82MemberI wouldn’t buy it expecting to move it around. If the manual is vague about charging, that usually means there’s no battery to charge. I’d just use it near the outlet or skip it.

EliMemberMine actually does run off a charge for a bit. I get maybe two or three sessions before it needs to go back on the cord, so I just unplug it and use it on the carpet. It’s not something you’d haul around all day, but it doesn’t have to live next to the outlet.

MemberMine needs to stay plugged in the whole time.

Dani MoonMemberI’ve had mine for about six months and it’s strictly a plug-in thing. There’s no battery in it as far as I can tell. I tried using it once after moving it to the bedroom, thinking maybe it held a charge, and it was dead within seconds of unplugging. So now it just lives near the outlet in my living room.
If your outlet is across the room, an extension cord might be your only real option unless you want to rearrange furniture. I know that’s annoying because nobody wants a cord running across the floor, but that’s just how this thing is built. It’s not a portable device no matter what the marketing suggests.
The manual being vague about charging is a pretty good sign there’s nothing to charge. Companies love to brag about battery life when there actually is one.

Owen21MemberI wouldn’t count on using it away from the wall. The remote is wireless but the unit itself still needs the cord, which is annoying if your setup isn’t near an outlet.

MemberMine only works plugged in, so no moving it.

MemberMine actually came with a small power bank thing in the box and I’ve been using it on the couch without the cord. Maybe they changed something or you got an older version.

MemberIf the manual is vague that’s usually a bad sign. Mine’s corded only, no battery, so it’s tethered to the wall whether I like it or not. If yours has a charge option it’d say so clearly.

MemberI’d handle it differently. My setup is in the living room, and I just use a short extension cord tucked along the baseboard so it doesn’t cross the walking path. The unit stays where it is and I don’t have to think about it. If you really need to move it, the cord is part of how it runs, so an outlet strip near your spot makes more sense than trying to carry it around. I’ve had mine for a while now and it’s been fine as a stationary thing. It’s not something I’d drag from room to room anyway. If the outlet placement is the main issue, I’d pick one spot where you normally lie down and keep the cord out of the way there. That’s what worked for me.

MemberI keep seeing people say it’s corded, but mine actually runs off a little rechargeable pack that clips on the side. I don’t know if that’s a newer version or what. Either way, I can carry it to the bedroom without the cord, so it’s not totally stuck by an outlet.

MemberI was trying to figure out the same thing before buying, and the chatty reviews never really settle it. If the listing doesn’t clearly say rechargeable, I’d assume it needs to stay plugged in and plan around that.

MemberCorded, so it lives by the outlet. Whatever.
