I’m thinking about getting the Derila Ergo but my old memory foam pillow used to trap heat pretty bad. Does the cooling layer on this one actually make a difference or is it more of a marketing thing? Just curious how it compares to a regular foam pillow.

I think it helps a bit compared to a standard foam pillow, but it’s not a dramatic difference. Mine still gets a little warm after a few hours, just not as bad as my old one. Maybe depends on how hot you sleep.

Honestly I think it does help a bit. I used to wake up with a sweaty neck on my old foam pillow but the Derila feels noticeably cooler to me. Not like ice cold or anything but definitely better than regular memory foam.

I think it’s a bit better than a regular foam pillow for sure. Mine doesn’t get that warm feeling during the night, at least not like my old one used to. I’d say the cooling layer helps enough that I don’t really think about it. Not totally sure if it’s life changing or anything, but it works fine for me.

I sleep pretty warm in general but I haven’t noticed any heat issues with mine. It’s definitely not going to feel like an ice pack or anything, but it doesn’t get that swampy feeling my old cheap foam pillow did.

I guess it’s a little better than a standard foam pillow, but I wouldn’t say it’s a huge difference. Mine doesn’t feel like it’s cooking my head overnight, but I think calling it a “cooling” layer is a bit generous. It’s just not as stuffy as my old one, which is good enough for me.

I’d guess it helps a little but don’t expect a miracle. If you’re used to pillows that feel like they’re holding a heat bubble, this one at least lets some air move through. I still wouldn’t call it cool, just less stuffy.

I mean, it’s not like sleeping on an ice pack or anything, but it’s definitely better than a regular foam pillow that just bakes your head all night. The cooling layer takes the edge off enough that I don’t wake up sweaty. It’s fine.

I slept on mine through the summer and it stayed way more comfortable than my old foam pillow. It’s not cold to the touch or anything dramatic, but I stopped waking up with that damp, overheated feeling. That alone was enough for me.
