Been using the Derila Ergo for a bit now and it’s fine, but I just realized I have no idea if a normal pillowcase actually fits it properly. The shape is kind of weird, so I’m guessing a regular one might bunch up or not stay on. Anyone tried using a standard pillowcase with it, or do you need something specific?

Standard pillowcases do fit, but they look a bit sloppy. The wings stick out and the fabric bunches up around the middle. It stays on fine all night though, so it’s not worth buying special ones unless the wrinkled look bothers you.

I just use the cover that came with it and skip the pillowcase mess entirely. Tried a regular one once, took it off halfway through the night because it kept sliding around. The shape is too awkward for standard cases, they never sit right. But honestly, the built-in cover is fine on its own. It’s not like it’s some cheap fabric, it washes okay. I don’t see the point in fighting with a pillowcase that’s never going to fit properly. If you’re really set on using one, maybe look for something with a deep pocket or a drawstring, but I wouldn’t bother. Just use the damn thing as is and save yourself the hassle.

I mean, I get why you’d wonder because the shape is definitely not normal, but honestly a standard pillowcase works fine for me. It looks a little rumpled in the morning but it doesn’t slide off or anything. I think people overthink the whole special cover thing, it’s just a pillow.

I’d say no, not really. Mine always slips off the sides.

I’d skip the standard pillowcase honestly. Not because it won’t fit, but because it just looks messy and the fabric tends to slide around on the memory foam. The shape isn’t a normal rectangle, so you end up with extra material bunched up under your neck or hanging off the sides. It stays on but it’s not clean.

If I were you I’d just use the cover it came with and leave it at that. The cover is easy to wash anyway. Buying special pillowcases for this thing feels like a waste unless you really care about matching your bedding. For me it’s not worth the hassle of adjusting a loose case every night. Keep it simple.

Regular pillowcases are a waste of time with this thing. The shape is too narrow in the middle and the wings just push the fabric around until it’s half off by morning. I stopped bothering and just lay the thing on top of a flat case now. Not worth the fight.

Standard pillowcase will go on, no question. The problem is it never looks right and the fabric slides around the foam because of the weird contour. I gave up and just use the included cover, less hassle than fighting with a case that clearly wasn’t made for that shape.

I gave up on regular pillowcases pretty fast. They go on but the shape makes them look sloppy and they shift around while you sleep. I just use the cover it came with and wash that instead. Way less hassle.

I use a regular pillowcase with mine and it stays on fine. It looks a bit lumpy at the ends, but it doesn’t bother me since I’m asleep. If you care about how the bed looks during the day, you might want something else.

I grabbed a regular pillowcase just to see and it went on fine. The corners end up empty and it wrinkles a bit, but I honestly never notice once I’m lying down. I wouldn’t buy special ones just for the shape.

I think the real issue is finding one that’s deep enough. I tried a random one from my closet and it fit, but the fabric was so tight over the wings it kind of flattened the shape. A stretchy cotton case made a big difference for me, so I’d look for that over a specific size.

I grabbed one of those stretchy jersey cases from a multipack and it worked way better than my regular cotton ones. The stretch just molds around the wings instead of fighting them. Still looks a bit odd on the bed but at least it stays put during the night.

It fits fine but looks kinda ridiculous, so I just use the cover it came with.

Mine never stayed on right, I gave up and just use the cover it came with.

I had the same thought when I first got mine. I just use a regular pillowcase and it works, the empty corners look a bit funny but they don’t bother me. I’m asleep, so who cares what the pillow looks like.

Good to know I’m not the only one who just threw a regular case on it and called it a day. The empty corners look dumb but once I’m half asleep I don’t care. Might try the jersey trick if I ever remember to pick one up.
