I spent a few weeks going back and forth between English/Spanish and English/Japanese with mine, and I don’t think the saved pairs are the problem. What I noticed is that the app does seem to prioritize whatever pair was active last time you closed it. If I leave it on English/Spanish and just reopen it, everything is snappy. The moment I manually switch to the Japanese pair in the middle of a conversation, there is a tiny pause while it recalibrates. Not a lag that kills the flow, but it’s there.
The accuracy thing is harder for me to judge because I don’t actually speak Japanese. I only tested it with a friend who does, and we did a few back-and-forths just to see if it kept up. It seemed fine, but I can’t really tell if it’s worse than the Spanish pair since I can catch mistakes in Spanish myself.
The one thing that changed my mind about keeping multiple pairs saved is that the app remembers the last used pair, so I don’t have to dig through menus every time. Before I bought them, I assumed I’d be switching constantly and it would get annoying. Turns out, I just leave it on the pair I need for the day and it’s fine. I wouldn’t bother deleting pairs unless you’re running out of space or the app gets cluttered. Keeping them all saved hasn’t caused any obvious slowdown for me.
I’ve seen a few of these magnetic chargers where the connection feels weaker if the watch isn’t sitting perfectly flat on the puck. If you nudge it a bit and it locks on tighter, that’s probably normal. The real test is whether it stays put when you roll over or knock the nightstand.
My own experience is on the other side of the fence on this one. The spray pattern was fine, but the mess came from the water bouncing off the glass itself. Even on a lower setting it just ricochets back at you and down the frame. I ended up with more water on the balcony floor than on the window.
It’s a noticeable difference. The stream comes out tight and hits hard enough that you feel it in the handle, not just see it. I didn’t expect it to be that much more aggressive than a regular nozzle, but it was pretty obvious on the first pull.
Mine has done the reconnect dance a couple of times too, but it has never actually dropped the phone from its memory. The phone stays listed, it just sometimes decides not to grab it automatically when I get in. I have noticed it tends to happen more if I get in the car quickly after the last drive, like the adapter hasn’t fully shut down and gets confused about the handoff.
It is annoying when it happens because you are already sitting there ready to go and suddenly you are fiddling with settings. But it is a two-minute fix and then it is fine for weeks. I would not read too much into it unless it starts happening every day. That would point to something actually wrong with the unit or maybe the USB port losing power for a second.
The drops on the glass are just something you deal with, the glare from oncoming lights is what these actually kill.
Most of the standard mounting plates are pretty universal these days, so I wouldn’t overthink the “standard” part too much. I ran mine on a fairly old Echo that’s got a straight shaft and it bolted right on with no extra adapters or anything. The only thing I’d double check is the size of your drive shaft nut because some of the older units have a slightly different thread pattern. Mine was fine, but I’ve heard of a couple people needing a different locking nut to make it sit flush. Took me maybe five minutes to swap out the old trimmer head. It’s been on there for about a month now and I haven’t had any wobble or loosening issues.
I think the limescale angle is oversold. The filter media is just too small to make a real dent in hard water buildup over time. I’d treat it as a chlorine filter that happens to make the water feel nicer, not as a solution for scale. If that’s your main reason for buying, you’re probably going to be disappointed.
I never tried a TENS unit, but I can tell you the vibration on this isn’t subtle or zappy. It’s more like a strong, dull thumping that you feel deep in the muscles. Not a massage exactly, but closer to that than the electric prickling I always imagined TENS would be.
Mirroring is probably the main thing I’d use it for, and honestly it feels like the weakest part of the stick. Not terrible, but I wouldn’t call it smooth either. Works fine when nothing else is running, but it’s not something I’d rely on for long stretches.
I use a regular pillowcase with mine and it stays on fine. It looks a bit lumpy at the ends, but it doesn’t bother me since I’m asleep. If you care about how the bed looks during the day, you might want something else.
I wouldn’t expect it to make the grates look brand new on the first pass, but it should break up that crust enough to scrape off. The key for me was doing it in sections instead of trying to cover the whole grill at once. It took a bit of patience, but I got down to bare metal eventually.
