Looking at the Qinux BittOne for some casual retro gaming, but I keep seeing mixed stuff about save states on these multi-emulator handhelds. Anyone know if this one handles them without crashing or losing progress?

I’ve seen a few people mention save states are hit or miss depending on the emulator, not necessarily the device itself. Might just be luck of the draw with whatever you’re trying to play.

I think it’s been fine for me so far. I’ve used save states on a few different games and haven’t lost anything yet. Maybe it depends on the rom or how you’re using it but mine seems to handle them okay.

Honestly, it’s just save states on a cheap emulator handheld. They’re never going to be 100% bulletproof. If you’re worried about losing progress, just use the in-game save too. Not really a big deal.

Pretty much just use them like normal and haven’t had any issues. Its not like I am saving every five seconds or anything but theyve worked fine for what Ive needed.

I just use the in-game saves mostly, so I haven’t really tested save states much. But when I have used them, they worked fine for me. No crashes or anything like that.

Honestly I think some of the worry about save states is overblown. I’ve been messing around with mine for a few weeks and they’ve worked every time I’ve used them, even on the trickier emulators. Maybe I just got lucky but it hasn’t been an issue for me at all.

I think the save states probably work fine for most older games. It’s the more complex ones that might cause trouble.

I’ve seen a few people say the same thing about save states being unreliable, but that hasn’t been my experience. They’ve worked every time I’ve tried them, no crashes. Might just depend on the game.

I have one and I mostly use it for older platformers and RPGs. The save states have been pretty reliable for me so far, no crashes or anything weird. I wouldn’t trust them for anything super complex, but for casual play they get the job done.

Most of the save state stuff I’ve seen online is people overthinking it. If you’re just playing basic NES or Game Boy games it’s fine.

I’ve got one and I don’t really stress about save states, but the few times I’ve used them they just worked without any issues. Seems fine for casual play.

I think it probably depends on what you’re playing. Some of the simpler emulators seem more stable with save states than others.

I have one and save states have been fine for me. I just use it for quick sessions and it saves and loads without any drama.

I think it probably just depends on the game, honestly. I’ve had zero issues with mine on the simpler stuff, but I haven’t tried anything too weird.
