Been looking at PolorVision for driving but I wear fairly thick prescription glasses. Wondering if the over-glasses design actually fits bigger frames or if it’s more for standard sized ones. Anyone tried it with larger glasses?

Tried mine with a chunky plastic frame and it was a squeeze. Not awful, but definitely not roomy. If your glasses are wide at the arms or sit high on your face, you’ll probably feel it pressing after a while.

I think it depends on what you mean by larger. My frames are on the wider side but the arms aren’t super thick, and they fit okay. The bridge area is where I felt it gets a bit snug, so if your glasses have a really thick bridge or sit high on your face, it might push down a bit.

Mine fit fine but I had to adjust how I put them on. The arms on my prescription frames are pretty standard, not thick at all. I could see it being a hassle if you have those really bulky designer frames or wide hinges. It’s snug but not crushing.

I have a pair of prescription frames that are honestly on the bigger side, mostly because I prefer that look, and they do fit but it’s not like there’s tons of extra room. The arms on my glasses are fairly standard though, not those thick chunky ones. I had to get used to putting the PolorVision on a certain way, kind of tilting it so the arms slide over without catching on my frames. Once they’re on, they sit fine and don’t feel like they’re squeezing my head or anything.

I don’t think I’d want to go much bigger than what I have, but for my day to day driving they work well enough. I mainly use them for longer trips and they stay put pretty good. If your glasses have really chunky arms, that might be where you run into trouble.

Yeah I’ve got a pair of prescription frames that are pretty wide, mostly because I need the bigger lenses for my prescription. They fit fine, but the nose bridge sits a bit snug against the frame. Not uncomfortable, just takes a second to get them settled right. I’d say if your glasses are super thick at the arms you might notice it more, but for wide lenses it’s not a dealbreaker.

Mine sits fine over my glasses but the sides do press a little after an hour or so.

The arms flex out enough that mine sit fine, but the frame does touch my cheeks if I smile a lot.

Mine are chunky, thick framed plastic things, not wire rims. They fit, but it’s not a clean slip-on situation. I have to angle them a bit so the arms don’t dig into my temples. Once they’re on, they stay put, but I wouldn’t call the fit “comfortable” for a long haul drive. It’s more like “tolerable.” The nose bridge on the PolorVision sits higher than I’d like, so they sort of rest on my frames instead of my face. That’s fine for short trips but after about 45 minutes I feel the pressure. If your glasses are really wide at the hinges, I’d be a little cautious. There’s flex in the arms, sure, but it has a limit. I’d rather they be a bit roomier than they are.

The fit really depends on where the arms of your glasses sit. Mine are on the wider side but the frames are thin, so they slide on okay. I’d say if your frames have thick plastic arms, it might feel a bit snugger than you’d like, but it’s still wearable.

The arms on mine sit fine, but the bridge is where I notice it. If your frames have a thick nose pad area, it pushes the PolorVision forward a bit and changes how close the lenses sit to your eyes. Not a dealbreaker, just something to expect.

I think the bigger concern is the arms more than the lens width honestly. Mine are pretty substantial frames and they go on okay, but I can feel them pressing after a while if I’m on a long drive. They work fine for commuting though, just not something I’d want to wear for hours on end.

I would say it depends on how wide your frames are at the temples. Mine are pretty bulky and they fit, but I did have to get used to the extra weight on my nose. I mostly just use mine for longer drives now, not quick trips.

Appreciate the replies, helpful to know the fit is mostly about the arms and not the lens width. Sounds like it works for most bigger frames but it’s not a perfect slip-on. Good enough for me to give it a shot.
