Got an iTagPro to stop losing my keys and to track my dog. It does the basic stuff—sound finder and last location—okay, but Bluetooth range is far smaller than the ads and the GPS/helpful tracking only works when your phone or other devices are nearby. Battery was supposed to last 6 months but mine dropped noticeably after a couple months with daily use. Anyone actually using iTagPro on pets or luggage and getting reliable geofence/movement alerts, or is this just fine for short-range cheap insurance?

Maybe it’s just luck, but mine feels surprisingly solid for the price, the plastic and ring haven’t cracked after months of tossing it in my bag.

Seems like these are mainly short-range backup devices. Geofence and any “GPS” updates usually rely on nearby phones, so don’t expect reliable remote tracking. Battery life in ads often looks better than real day-to-day use.

Geofence alerts are hit or miss because the tag only reports when another phone is close enough to relay location. Expect delays and weird last-seen points. Battery life in ads sounds optimistic.

Seems fine as a cheap bit of peace of mind for travel or tossed-in bags, I think. Maybe don’t expect pro-grade tracking, but for everyday misplacements it should do. Not totally sure about using it on pets that wander far though.

I bought one and stuck it on my camera bag for a few trips. Geofence and movement alerts were kind of flaky, sometimes slow or only updating when my phone was nearby, so I’m not totally sold on long-range tracking. Battery died faster than the 6 month claim, but for cheap peace of mind it seems fine I guess.

Honestly I think it’s a bit overhyped. Bluetooth barely reaches through my apartment and the alerts were slow or inconsistent. Maybe I’m just unlucky, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything important.

Same experience here, it reliably beeps to find nearby items yet failed to act like a proper GPS when I tested range. Battery dropped faster than the box said and the app only reports location when a phone is nearby, so the “real-time” claim felt inflated. Good enough as cheap short-range backup, not something I’d rely on for serious tracking.

Honestly I just use mine for my keys and it’s fine for that. Never tried it on a dog though, sounds like it would be annoying if the range is that short.

I think the geofence alerts work okay if your phone is near the tag, but honestly mine was pretty hit or miss when I tested it on a bag. Not totally sure it’s worth relying on for anything serious.

I use mine for my backpack when I travel and the geofence alerts have been fine for me. The Bluetooth range is definitely shorter than what they show in ads, but for keeping track of a bag in the same airport terminal it works well enough. Battery life hasn’t been an issue yet but I haven’t had mine for more than a couple months so maybe it’ll drop off later. For the price I’d say it’s decent for casual use.

Mine works alright for keeping an eye on my bag, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything important. The battery thing is real, I already swapped mine once.

I’ve had a different experience with mine. I clipped it to my carry-on for a couple of trips and the movement alerts actually went off when my bag got shifted around in the overhead bin. It’s not a real-time GPS thing, but as a cheap way to know if something’s being moved when it shouldn’t be, it did what I needed. I think people expect too much from a Bluetooth tag.
