I’m thinking about grabbing an AiraBreeze for my office but I saw a couple comments saying it makes a weird sound when the tank gets empty. Is that normal or does it mean something’s wrong? I don’t want to be stuck refilling it every few hours just to keep it quiet.

Mine does that too, it’s just the pump sucking air when the water gets low. You don’t have to refill it every few hours though, just top it off when the noise starts and you’re good.

Oh that noise is just the pump working with barely any water left, happens with most evaporative coolers. You don’t have to babysit it constantly, I just fill mine when I start using it and it easily lasts through a workday. The sound is a bit startling at first but it’s not a defect or anything.

It’s just the pump running dry for a second. Not a big deal. I let mine run out all the time and it still works fine.

I’ve had mine for a few months and it does make a little noise when the water’s almost gone. Nothing crazy, just a slight change in sound. I usually just fill it in the morning and it lasts through my workday no problem.

Mine makes that noise too when it’s almost out of water, it’s just the pump sucking up the last bit. I don’t find it annoying enough to constantly top it off, I just let it run dry and fill it when I come back. Still works fine after months of that.

I’ve got one in my home office and honestly the noise is barely noticeable unless the room is dead quiet. I just top it off when I grab coffee or something and it’s fine, never had to stress about it.

I’m not sure it’s something to worry about honestly. Most of these portable coolers make a little noise when the water gets low, it’s just how they work.

I think it’s just the pump noise when the water’s low, mine does the same thing but it’s not loud enough to bother me. I just fill it up when I notice and it’s fine.

I haven’t noticed it myself, but I figure most of these things make some kind of noise when the water’s low. Kind of comes with the territory for a portable cooler.

I think it’s probably normal for these things. Most of them make some kind of noise when the pump starts sucking air instead of water. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s really loud.

I just fill mine when I start to hear it, takes two seconds. Doesn’t bother me.

Mine doesn’t make any noise worth mentioning, even when it’s almost dry. Maybe some units are just louder than others.

Yeah I figured as much after reading through these. It’s just the pump sucking air, not a defect or anything. I’ll probably still grab one, I can deal with a little noise if it means not sweating through my workday. Appreciate the input.
