I’ve been testing Translattia with a friend who speaks Spanish while I stick to English, and it seems fine. But I’m wondering if the app handles multiple saved language pairs at once or if it’s better to keep just one active. Does switching pairs in the app slow things down or mess with accuracy?

I spent a few weeks going back and forth between English/Spanish and English/Japanese with mine, and I don’t think the saved pairs are the problem. What I noticed is that the app does seem to prioritize whatever pair was active last time you closed it. If I leave it on English/Spanish and just reopen it, everything is snappy. The moment I manually switch to the Japanese pair in the middle of a conversation, there is a tiny pause while it recalibrates. Not a lag that kills the flow, but it’s there.

The accuracy thing is harder for me to judge because I don’t actually speak Japanese. I only tested it with a friend who does, and we did a few back-and-forths just to see if it kept up. It seemed fine, but I can’t really tell if it’s worse than the Spanish pair since I can catch mistakes in Spanish myself.

The one thing that changed my mind about keeping multiple pairs saved is that the app remembers the last used pair, so I don’t have to dig through menus every time. Before I bought them, I assumed I’d be switching constantly and it would get annoying. Turns out, I just leave it on the pair I need for the day and it’s fine. I wouldn’t bother deleting pairs unless you’re running out of space or the app gets cluttered. Keeping them all saved hasn’t caused any obvious slowdown for me.

I actually had the opposite experience with mine. I kept English/Spanish and English/Japanese saved and after a few switches the app seemed to get confused about which pair was active. It translated into the wrong language once or twice during a conversation, which was awkward. I just reset it to one pair and it’s been smoother since.

I wouldnt bother keeping just one pair active. Ive had three saved on mine for a while now and switching between them is instant. The app never stumbles on which language Im using when I start a conversation, so accuracy stays the same. Whatever lag you think exists is probably just the Bluetooth handshake, not the app juggling pairs.

With that many saved pairs the app probably just picks whichever one you last used anyway.
