Been using the Glokore Filtered Showerhead for a couple of weeks now and I’m trying to figure out if the water actually feels softer or if I’m just imagining it. Not complaining, it seems to do the job, but I’m curious if anyone else noticed a change in how the water feels on your skin. I know it’s not going to fix everything, but I’m a bit surprised it’s not harder to tell.

I was expecting more of a difference honestly. Ive had mine about a month and I cant say the water feels dramatically softer to me, but my skin does seem less itchy after showers. Could be the chlorine thing or could just be in my head. Either way its not hurting anything.

I noticed it more with my hair than with my skin, honestly. The first few showers I didn’t really think much of it, but after about a week I realized my hair wasn’t as frizzy when I got out. It still air dried kind of wavy, but it felt less straw-like. I wasn’t expecting that at all, I mainly got it because our water smells heavily of chlorine and I wanted to do something about it. That smell is definitely toned down now. As for the water feeling softer on my skin, I can kind of tell, but it’s not like a night and day thing. More like a subtle difference that you only notice when you go back to a regular shower somewhere else.

I mean, softer is a pretty subjective thing. I don’t think you’re imagining it, but it’s not like you’re suddenly showering in silk. I figured the main benefit would be less chlorine smell and that’s about what I got.

It kind of sneaks up on you, I think. The first week I didn’t notice anything either, but then I realized my skin wasn’t feeling as tight after I got out. I wouldn’t say the water feels dramatically different while I’m standing in it, but the after effect is what changed for me.

I also stopped getting that weird dry itch on my shoulders that I used to get all the time in the winter. I didn’t really connect it to the showerhead until I thought about it one day. Could be coincidence, but it’s been consistent enough that I’m sticking with it.

I do think a lot of it depends on what your water was like before. If your water wasn’t that bad to begin with, you probably won’t notice much. I’m just glad it’s not making things worse.

I think part of it is just that you get used to it fast. The first shower or two felt slightly different to me, but now I don’t really notice unless I think about it. Not a bad thing, just not a dramatic change.

The change is subtle but it’s there for me. I notice it most when I get out and my skin doesn’t have that squeaky clean feeling that usually means it’s stripped dry. It’s not night and day, but I’ll take it over the alternative.

I don’t think you’re imagining it, but I also wouldn’t call it a huge change. For me the difference showed up when I stopped getting that dry, itchy feeling on my arms after a shower. Took me a couple of weeks to really notice it though, so maybe give it a bit more time.

It might depend on your water too. Mine is pretty heavily chlorinated and I honestly noticed the difference mostly when I traveled and used a regular showerhead again. That’s when it hit me, the water at home did feel less harsh. But day to day, yeah, I can’t really tell anymore.

It’s funny you say that because I had the opposite experience sort of. I didn’t notice anything different in the shower itself. The water felt exactly the same to me while I was in there. But after maybe three or four days I realized my hair wasn’t getting as frizzy after I let it air dry. That’s usually my biggest annoyance and it was just… less of a thing. Still not amazing, but noticeably better.

I also stopped having that weird buildup feeling on my scalp by day two. I think a lot of people expect the water to feel dramatically softer right away, but my guess is the change is more about what you don’t feel later. Hard to tell if it’s the filter or if I just got lucky with the weather, but I’ll take it. I’m curious if the filter cartridge has a lifespan where it stops working and you just don’t realize it for a while.

I think a lot of it depends on what you’re used to. I switched from an old showerhead that was pretty clogged, so anything would’ve felt different. But I do think my hair has been less staticky after drying, which I’ll take.

I actually think the difference is pretty obvious, but maybe that’s because my water is so bad. I noticed it the first shower, not even a subtle thing. The water just felt less harsh, like it wasn’t stripping everything off my skin. I didn’t go in expecting much, so the fact that I noticed it immediately makes me think it’s not a placebo.
