Renting an apartment and the shower arm looks pretty standard. Before I bother, does the Glokore Filtered Showerhead actually screw on without any adapters? I don’t want to deal with returns if it doesn’t fit. Just need a straight answer.

Mine screwed right onto the existing arm with no adapter. The only thing I’d check is whether your arm has that weird angled ball joint, because those can be hit or miss. Took me like two minutes total.

Mine threaded on fine, but the plastic housing felt flimsy when I tightened it. Didn’t leak, so I left it.

Mine did not just screw on like I expected. I have a normal looking arm in my bathroom, nothing fancy, and when I tried to put the Glokore on it only went about half a turn before it got tight and started leaking from the connection. I figured I was just being soft with it so I gave it a little more and water still sprayed out the side. Took it off and the threads on the plastic inlet looked kind of chewed up already. Not great.

I ended up going to the hardware store and grabbing a cheap brass adapter and some extra tape, and that fixed it. So no, it did not go straight on for me without extra parts. The included tape was basically useless in my case, it was thin and I had to redo it twice.

I know people say it fits standard arms but standard clearly has some wiggle room. If your arm is older or has any paint or buildup on the threads, I would not count on a clean fit out of the box. I kept mine because I did not want to deal with shipping it back, but I was annoyed I had to make a second trip for a two dollar part just to get a showerhead working. So if you are trying to avoid returns, maybe just check your threads first and have an adapter ready.

Mine went on a basic apartment arm without any adapter, so you should be fine if it’s the usual setup. Took me like two minutes with the tape they toss in the box. Only thing I noticed is it sits a little low, but that’s just my arm angle, not the threads.

The Glokore uses standard 1/2 inch threads, so it should screw on like any other showerhead. If your arm is the normal fixed type you see in most apartments, you’re good. Just use the tape it comes with.

I ran into something similar when I moved into my current place and the one thing I’d actually check first is whether your shower arm has that little ball joint or a weird angled bend near the wall. Mine looked standard at a glance but it had a slight curve right before the threads, and that threw off how the Glokore sat once I screwed it on. Not a thread issue at all, it went on fine, but the head ended up tilted at a weird angle and kept dribbling toward the back of the tub. I ended up just rotating the arm itself a bit and it was fine after that. So if yours is a straight fixed arm you’re probably good, but if there’s any curve or flex in it, that’s the part I’d look at before ordering. Took me a couple minutes to sort out once I figured out what was happening.

Mine threaded right onto the arm in my last two apartments, no adapter involved. I’ve moved it between places twice now and it always just screwed on like a normal head. So if yours looks standard, you’re good.

I’d look at your current showerhead first, not the arm. When I swapped mine out in my last place, the Glokore went on fine but the issue was that my old head had a weird built in swivel thing, so the new one sat kind of crooked once it was tight. Still worked, no leaks, but it wasn’t perfectly straight and that bugged me more than it probably should have. Threads matched up no problem though. I didn’t need any adapter and I’m pretty sure my building is just the usual cheap apartment setup. The tape it comes with helps but you have to wrap it the right direction or it just peels off when you screw it on, which I learned the annoying way. So I guess my answer is the arm itself probably isn’t the thing to worry about. It’s more about how the old head comes off and whether the new one ends up sitting flush.

I care more about how it feels day to day than the install fuss, so I just grabbed mine and it went right on the arm in my apartment. No adapter, no drama. If your arm is the usual fixed kind you’re probably fine.

I wouldn’t get hung up on the adapter thing, mine went on the arm in my rental in about two minutes with just the tape that came in the box. Apartments usually have the same basic setup so I doubt you’d need anything extra. Returns are annoying but I don’t think you’ll be dealing with one here.

I bought one for my parents’ place and it went on their shower arm with no adapter. Their setup is pretty basic though, so I can’t say every rental will be the same. If yours looks standard, it should thread right on.

I’d probably skip it if you’re not okay with a possible return. Mine went on but it sat way too close to the wall for my liking, so I ended up sending it back anyway.
