I’m thinking about getting the iTagPro for my luggage when I travel, but I’m a bit confused about the range. If my bag gets lost at the airport, can the app still show me a location even if the tag is far away, or do you have to be close for it to work?

Honestly, it’s not really long-range in the way you’re probably hoping. I mean, it’ll show the last spot it connected to your phone before the bag went out of range, but that’s about it unless someone else’s phone happens to pick it up. Worked okay for me when I left my backpack in a taxi, but I wouldn’t count on it for a lost suitcase at a busy airport.

I think it just depends on what you expect. It’s not like a GPS tracker that follows your bag across the ocean or anything. If your luggage goes out of Bluetooth range, the app just remembers the last spot it saw it. That’s usually good enough for me at airports, but I’m not expecting miracles from it.

I grabbed one for my backpack and honestly it works fine for the normal range stuff. Not gonna track your bag across the airport once it’s out of Bluetooth range though.

It just shows the last place it connected to your phone. So if your bag leaves the airport on a plane, you’re not getting live updates or anything. For keeping an eye on it in the terminal or in the car, it works fine.

That’s pretty much how these things work. It’ll show you where it last had a connection, but once it’s out of Bluetooth range, you’re not getting a live location. I think it’s fine for keeping an eye on your stuff nearby, but for tracking luggage that’s already gone, it’s probably not what you’re looking for.

I think as long as you just want to know where it last was, it works fine for that. For my stuff that stays nearby, the range is good enough.

It’s just Bluetooth, so no, you won’t get a live location from across the airport. The app will show you the last spot it connected, which is better than nothing if your bag gets swiped.

Honestly, if your bag is across the airport you won’t get a live ping, but the last known location is usually enough to get you pointed in the right direction. I wouldn’t let the range stop you from throwing one in your luggage.

The last known location thing works well enough for me. I just use it to make sure my bag didn’t get left behind somewhere. Not really worried about live tracking from far away.

I mean, that’s just how Bluetooth works. If your bag’s out of range you get the last known spot, not a live feed. Good enough for finding which terminal you left it in though.

Oh, I actually wondered the same thing before I got mine. I think it’s just Bluetooth so you won’t get a live spot if it’s far, but the last known location pops up in the app which is handy enough.
