I’ve been using my Qinux Vapoxis for a few weeks now, mostly on kitchen tiles and the bathroom, which it handles fine. Tried it on the sofa yesterday though, and I felt like I had to go over the same spot a bunch of times to really feel like it was doing anything. Maybe I’m just expecting too much from steam on fabric? Anyone else notice this or is it just me being impatient?

I’ve only used mine on a couple of cushions so far and honestly I didn’t mind going over them a few times. It felt like the steam was loosening stuff up but I think fabric just absorbs it differently than tiles. Kinda like how you have to scrub a pan more than a plate, you know? I’d just give it a little more time and see if it grows on you.

Steam on fabric is always going to take a bit more work. I wouldn’t call it a flaw of the Vapoxis specifically, just how steam cleaning works on stuff like that.

I think it depends a lot on the fabric. My sofa is one of those slightly rough microfibre types and the steam just sits on top unless I really press down. Took a few passes but it worked eventually.

I mostly use mine on car seats and it takes a couple passes there too. Doesn’t bother me much, I just figure that’s how steam works on fabric.

Steam just doesn’t cut through fabric as fast as it does on tiles. I wouldn’t overthink it.

I think part of it might just be the fabric. I tried mine on a thicker curtain once and it definitely needed more passes than I expected. On harder surfaces it works great, but soft stuff just soaks up the steam differently I guess. Still does the job for me though, just takes a bit longer.

I’d guess it’s just a fabric thing. Steam on hard surfaces feels instant, but fabric soaks it up slower.

Honestly, I’d say just give it one quick pass and let it dry before judging. I’ve noticed fabric looks way better once it’s had a few minutes to air out.

I’ve got a thick wool blanket I tried it on and honestly I wasn’t sure if it was doing much at first either. Maybe it’s just that fabric needs time to soak the steam in before it loosens stuff up. I wouldn’t call it a problem with the cleaner itself though.

I barely noticed a difference on my sofa until it dried. So I wouldn’t stress too much about it right away.

I kinda noticed the same thing when I tried it on my car seats. Hard surfaces are way more satisfying because you see the dirt lift right off but fabric just soaks it up and you’re left wondering if it did anything. Let it dry for a bit and see if it looks any different.

Disagree. I think it works fine on fabric, you just gotta accept it’s not gonna look like a magic trick. Steam loosens stuff up, but you still gotta wipe or vacuum after.
