MemberI keep seeing people mention red light for dark spots. The Glokore Therapy Mask lists it as a benefit, but is that just marketing? I have some old acne marks I’d like to fade. Not expecting miracles, just wondering if it’s worth trying for that specifically.

MemberRed light can help with healing and inflammation, but old acne marks are a different beast. I’d treat the dark spot claim as a bonus, not the main reason to buy it. If fading those marks is your only goal, your money might do more elsewhere.

SarahMParticipantI’d say the dark spot thing is oversold if that’s your only reason for buying it. I got one for my sister last year and used it a few times when she was staying with me, mostly out of curiosity. It felt nice and calming on my skin, but I didn’t notice any change in the couple of brown marks I have from old breakouts. Those things usually need something that actually targets pigment, like a serum or a derm treatment, not just light. The mask might help with redness or overall glow over time, but I wouldn’t buy it expecting it to fade acne marks. That’s my honest take from actually trying it, not just reading the box.

Ben KerrMemberProbably not the best pick if spots are the main goal.

Susan KennetMemberI’ve used mine for about two months mostly for redness and texture, and my old acne marks have faded a little but nothing dramatic. If spots are your main thing I’d look at vitamin C or retinol first. The mask is nice for overall skin, just not a spot treatment.

Laura ReadsMemberI use mine mainly for overall tone so I can’t say I bought it for spots specifically. But my skin does look brighter after a few weeks, and some older marks seem less obvious. I’d call it a nice bonus rather than the whole reason to buy one.

HanSoloParticipantRed light for dark spots is the part of the marketing that makes me roll my eyes the most. I’ve had a mask for maybe four months and I use it for breakouts and general redness. The spots from my old acne? Still sitting there. What actually moved them was sunscreen every single day and not picking at my face. The mask didn’t make anything worse, and the red light does seem to calm down new pimples faster, so I keep using it for that. But if you’re buying it mainly because the box says dark spots, I’d save your money and spend it on a good SPF instead. Mine is basically a tool for active acne, not for fading marks from two years ago.

MemberI’d go in expecting it to help more with overall tone than actual spots. I’ve been looking at these masks for a while and the spot fading claims always seem like the weakest part of the pitch. Fine lines and redness get way more consistent feedback.

MemberI’ve had mine since spring and my dark marks are still pretty much there, so I wouldn’t buy it just for spots. The redness around them calmed down though, which makes them look less obvious in photos. That’s about the extent of it for me.

Paul847ParticipantRed light can help with healing but I don’t think it targets pigment directly. Mine faded some old marks over a few months but it was slow.

Mike in TXMemberRed light doesn’t really do much for pigment, and I think that’s where people get disappointed. My wife got one of these masks a while back and I’ve used it off and on for probably six months now. It does something for how my skin feels and the redness I get after shaving calms down faster, I’ll give it that. But the dark marks from old breakouts, the brownish ones that sit there for months? Those didn’t budge. What actually got rid of mine was time and staying out of the sun. If I had to guess, the mask helps with the stuff that’s still healing and inflamed. Once a spot has turned into actual pigment, red light isn’t touching it. So if your marks are older and brown, I’d keep expectations low on that front. If they’re still pink or red, maybe.

MemberI actually noticed some fading on my older marks after about two months of regular use, so I don’t fully buy the idea that it does nothing for pigment. It wasn’t dramatic, but they definitely look softer than before. Maybe it depends on how fresh the marks are.

MemberRed light is more for healing than fading marks for me.

MemberMine helped more with the overall redness and general glow than the individual marks themselves. The spots I had from old breakouts did soften a bit after a couple months of consistent use, but nothing dramatic. Worth trying if you’re patient, just don’t expect it to zap them quickly.

MemberI used mine mostly for fine lines and was surprised that a couple of my older acne marks did look lighter after maybe 8 weeks. Not gone, just less obvious. If spots are your only reason to buy it, I’d probably look at other options first.

Daniele RossiMemberI don’t buy that red light is useless for marks. Mine faded a lot faster once I stopped expecting the mask to do all the work and added sunscreen daily. The light helped, but sun protection was the bigger factor for me.

MemberRed light and dark spots is kind of a mixed bag in my experience. I’ve had one of these masks for close to a year and used it pretty consistently, mostly for redness and just general skin stuff. The old acne marks I have did fade over time, but I honestly can’t say the mask was the main reason. I was also using vitamin C and being better about sunscreen around the same stretch, so it’s hard to separate what did what.
What I can say is that the mask didn’t make anything worse and my skin tone looks more even than it did before. Whether that’s worth the price just for dark spots is another question. If that’s your only goal, I’d probably look at other stuff first. But if you want something you can just throw on a few nights a week and let it do whatever it does, it’s not a bad thing to have around.

MemberI don’t buy the whole red light fixes dark spots thing. Spots are pigment, light doesn’t just erase pigment, that’s not how it works. If it did anything for mine it was so slow I couldn’t tell, and I wasn’t about to wait six months to find out.
29 de September de 2026 at 19:50 #13556Laura M.
MemberI mostly used mine for the calming/redness thing, but a few of my old marks did look less angry after a couple months. Not erased, just less noticeable in photos. I’d say it’s worth trying if you’re consistent, but don’t expect it to do all the work on its own.

MemberRed light for dark spots is way oversold. I’ve had mine since last winter and my acne marks are still sitting there. It’s fine for calming my face down after a bad week, but if spots are the only reason you’re buying it, save your money.
