Wish the pouches had a stronger scent

Picked up some PestVault pouches on a whim and put them in the pantry. They smell nice for a day or two but then it fades fast and I’m not sure if the rodents still notice it. Maybe it’s just my house or the placement but I expected the smell to stick around longer. Anyone else find the scent wears off before the 2-4 week mark?

Yeah mine faded pretty quick too. I kind of figured they would though, it’s just smell.

I dunno, mine held up longer than a couple days. Maybe you got a weak batch or something.

I kinda like that the scent is not super strong honestly. I threw a couple in my car and it keeps it smelling decent without being overwhelming. Not totally sure how well it works for rodents but the smell is fine for me.

I didn’t even notice the scent fading that much. I put a couple in my garage and it still smells fine to me a couple weeks later. Maybe your pantry is too big or something.

I put some in my shed and noticed the same thing, but I think it still kept the mice away even after the smell seemed to fade for me. Maybe our noses just get used to it faster than the rodents do.

I think the scent fading fast is just how these things work. I had a similar experience with them in my closet, but honestly the mice stopped showing up anyway so maybe the smell is still there for them even if we can’t smell it. Not totally sure it’s a problem if the rodents still avoid the area.

Huh, I had the same thought with mine. I put a couple in my linen closet and they were pretty subtle after the first few days. Not totally sure if that means they’re still working or not, but I haven’t seen any signs of mice so maybe it’s fine.

I mean, it’s basically a pouch of plant stuff, so I’m not sure how long you expect the smell to really hang around. As long as the rodents are staying away, it’s probably doing the job even if you can’t smell it anymore.

I noticed the same thing. The first couple days are great but after that you’re basically just guessing if it’s still doing anything.

Figured as much. Guess you get what you pay for with these natural pouch things. I’ll just swap them out more often and stop expecting miracles.

I figure if the scent fades that quick you just swap them a bit sooner and call it a day. Still cheaper than calling an exterminator every time a mouse sneezes.

I just swap them out every two weeks instead of waiting longer. Not ideal but it keeps things simple.
