I finally set up my soundbar with the subwoofer and rear speakers but now I’m second guessing where to put the rear ones. My couch is against the wall so they’re kinda right behind my head. Is that too close or should I mount them higher up? Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.

Right behind your head is probably going to be annoying for anyone sitting in the middle. I’d just mount them higher up and angle them down a bit, that’s what I did and it worked fine.

I feel you on this, my couch is against the wall too so I just put mine on some small shelves I already had. It’s not perfect but I don’t notice them being annoying, maybe I’m just not that picky about it.

I’d just leave them where they are honestly. If it sounds good to you, being close is probably fine.

I think having them right behind your head might actually be fine depending on the soundbar. I’ve got mine sort of angled down from a shelf behind my couch and it works for me but I’m not totally sure if that’s the ideal setup. Maybe try them at ear level first and see if it feels overwhelming before moving them higher.

I wouldn’t stress too much about it. Mine are basically right behind my head too and it still sounds fine to me.

I’ve got mine pretty close behind the couch too and honestly it works fine for me. I just angled them slightly so they point toward the seating area instead of straight at my ears. Makes the surround effect feel pretty immersive without being too much.

I stuck mine on the wall above ear level and it actually helped spread the sound out more. You might want to try that if they feel too close behind your head.

I just put mine on stands behind the couch and left them at ear level. It sounds fine to me even though they are close. You might be overthinking it a bit.

I’ve seen plenty of people just mount them higher on the wall and call it a day. Ear level behind your head might be a bit much depending on how close you sit.

Appreciate the replies. I ended up just leaving mine on stands at ear level for now and it sounds fine to me. Might tweak the angle a bit but honestly not stressing over it. Thanks for the input.
