Been thinking about picking up the Qinux VultrioX for cleaning moss off my brick path. My nylon line just shreds on the rough surface. Anyone tried it for that? Just wondering if it actually works without damaging the bricks too much.

I’ve seen a few people use those steel brush heads on brick and they seemed fine with it. The wires are stiff but they’re not gonna gouge the bricks unless you really lean on it. Just keep the speed reasonable and you’ll probably be alright.

I wouldn’t overthink it. Bricks are pretty tough, a steel brush head isn’t going to do much damage unless you’re really leaning into it. Should be fine for moss.

I just use mine for moss on brick and it works fine. Not gonna wreck the bricks unless you go at it like a maniac.

Tried mine on a brick patio and it cleared the moss off pretty quick. Noticed a few surface scuffs but nothing worse than what the moss already leaves behind. Seems fine for the job if you don’t go crazy with it.

I’d probably just go for it. The steel wires are way tougher than nylon, so they should handle the rough brick without disintegrating. Just don’t lean into it too hard and you’ll be fine.

I wouldn’t worry too much about damaging the bricks. I’ve used mine on some old paving and it didn’t do any more harm than the moss already does. Just keep the speed reasonable and it’ll be fine.

I think it’d probably work fine for moss on brick. The wires are stiff enough to scrape it off without chewing into the bricks too much if you keep the head moving. I’d just try it on a small patch first to see how it goes.

Bit of a pain to swap heads every time you hit a patch of moss though. Gets old fast.

Honestly I just use mine for moss on brick and it does the job fine. No major damage, just a bit of dust. Swapping heads is a minor hassle but not a dealbreaker for me.

I’d say go for it if the nylon line is giving you trouble. The steel wires should scrape the moss off pretty well without gouging the bricks if you keep the head moving. Just watch the speed setting so you don’t send dust everywhere.

I think swapping heads is just part of the deal with these things, no way around it. But once you get used to it, it’s not that big of a deal for a quick moss job.

It’s not exactly rocket science. You run it over the moss, it comes off, the bricks are fine. Don’t overthink it.

Good to know it works on brick without damaging them, that was my main worry. Sounds like swapping heads is just part of the deal, but I can live with that. Think I’ll pick one up and see how it goes.

I’d actually say the opposite. I tried it on my brick path and wasn’t that impressed. The steel wires just bounced off the moss instead of cutting through cleanly, and I had to go over the same spots a few times. Maybe my trimmer isn’t powerful enough, but it definitely didn’t feel like a quick fix.

I think it works okay for moss, but I wouldn’t expect miracles on really rough brick. I’ve used mine more on concrete and it did fine there. The wires definitely last way longer than the line, so that part’s a win. Maybe just take it easy and see how yours handles it.
