So I got the Qinux Vibrathea a few weeks back and it’s fine, does what it says. But compared to my old TENS unit, the pads feel a bit thinner or something. Is it just me or do they not stick as long? Maybe I’m just used to the older style, but wondering if anyone else noticed this.

Pads do seem a bit different on these newer units, I noticed that too. They still work fine for me though, just need a bit more pressing down to get them to stick properly. I wouldn’t overthink it, honestly.

Eh, I think the pads on these newer ones are just made a bit different, mine feel slightly less thick too but it hasn’t really been an issue. I just make sure the skin is clean and dry before sticking them on and they seem to last a while. Maybe I just got lucky with mine but I haven’t had to replace them yet.

I think the stickiness thing might just depend on how clean your skin is when you put them on, honestly. I’ve had mine for about a month and the pads still hold up fine, but I do make sure to wipe the area first. They do feel a bit lighter than my older unit’s pads though.

I think the pads on these newer units just have a different feel to them, yeah. I had an old TENS years back and the gel pads were almost spongy, these are more like a sticker. Mine have held up okay for about a month of regular use, but I do find they slide around a bit more if I’m moving while using it. I usually just use mine sitting at a desk or on the couch, so it’s not a huge deal for me.

What I did notice is that they seem to pick up lint or dust a lot faster than the older ones. If I toss the device in my bag without the pads covered, they’re pretty much done after that. I just keep the plastic film over them when I store it and they last longer. Probably not the same as your old unit, but they get the job done.

Honestly I never even paid attention to the pad thickness until you mentioned it. Mine have been sticking fine for the last couple weeks, but I also make sure the skin is dry before putting them on. Maybe that helps more than the pad quality itself.

Pads are definitely thinner on this one, thats the first thing I noticed when I took it out. My old unit had these thick gel pads that felt like theyd last forever. These feel more like a sticker honestly. But Ive had mine for about six weeks now and theyre still holding up, I just have to make sure the skin is dry before I slap them on.

I think the tradeoff is that the thinner pads conform better on awkward spots. I use mine mostly on my shoulder and neck and the thinner ones actually stay in contact better there. The old thick ones would lift up at the edges if I moved around.

Stickiness has been fine so far, but I already ordered a spare set because I know these arent going to last like the old ones did. Its just a different design philosophy I guess.

Mine stick fine for about a week of daily use, then they start slipping. But honestly, I just swap them out when they get annoying. Not a big deal for the price.

I wouldn’t overthink it too much. Different brands make their pads a little differently and the thinner ones do tend to wear out faster, so if yours are slipping after a few weeks, that’s probably just how this model is. I’d just order a pack of replacements and move on.

If they start slipping I’ll just replace them, they’re not that expensive. I get why it feels like a downgrade if you’re used to the old style, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. The unit itself works fine and that’s what matters to me.

I’ve noticed it too, the pads on mine definitely feel lighter than what I remember from my older unit. They still work fine for me, but I do wonder if they’ll need replacing sooner. I guess time will tell.

Honestly, pads are consumables. They all wear out eventually, no matter what brand you buy. I’ve had units where the pads lasted a month, others where they were done after two weeks. It just depends on how often you use them and how well you clean your skin before sticking them on.

That said, if they’re not sticking as long as you’d like, just grab some replacements. They’re cheap enough online and you’re not locked into buying the brand name ones. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. The unit itself does what it’s supposed to do, so I’d just swap the pads out and move on. Not worth overthinking.

Fair enough, that all makes sense. I figured they were just a bit cheaper made, not a huge deal as long as they still work. I’ll just grab some replacements when these give out and stop overthinking it.
