MemberI’m thinking about getting the Qinux ScryneX for movie nights in the backyard, but the only spot I have is a brick wall. The product page mentions hooks and screws, but I’m not sure how well that works on brick without damaging anything. Anyone tried mounting it on brick or concrete?

MemberI’d probably just use some decent masonry anchors and call it a day. It’s really not that complicated if you have a drill and the right bits.

MemberI’d just use masonry anchors and a decent drill bit. It’s not rocket science, just make sure you don’t crack the brick. The screen itself is light enough that it shouldn’t be a problem.

Tom CallMemberIt’s light enough, so I wouldn’t overthink it. I just used some decent wall plugs and it’s been fine so far. No cracks or anything.

MemberHonestly, I wouldn’t overthink the brick part. Just make sure your drill bit is sharp and you’re not using some cheap hardware store anchors that’ll crumble. The screen’s light enough, so it’s not like you’re hanging a boulder.

MemberHonestly, it’s not that deep. A brick wall is just a wall with a different texture, not rocket science. Grab some decent plugs and screws from the hardware store, drill carefully, and you’re done in ten minutes. People overthink this stuff way too much.

MemberOh nice, a brick wall setup sounds pretty solid honestly. I’d probably go for it, the screen is light enough that you don’t need to overthink the mounting.

MemberBrick always makes me nervous for some reason, even if the screen is light. I’d probably look up how to hide the holes later just in case I change my mind about the spot.

MemberHonestly, it’s fine. People act like brick is some kind of impossible material, but a masonry bit and a decent anchor and you’re done. The screen is light enough that even a couple of plugs will hold it no problem. Just don’t overthink it.

MemberI think people make brick mounting sound harder than it is, but I also get being cautious about it. For something this light, I doubt you’d run into real trouble as long as you use the right bits. The bigger question for me is whether the screen holds up well outdoors over time, not just the mounting part.

MemberI’d just use some decent masonry anchors and take it slow with the drill, no need to overcomplicate it. The screen’s light enough that you won’t need to stress about it pulling out.

MemberI feel you on the brick wall worry. I hung mine on a painted concrete wall and it’s been fine, no issues so far.

MemberI’ve never mounted anything on brick myself but I’d probably just wing it with whatever hardware came in the box and hope for the best. It’s not like the screen weighs much so I can’t see it being a huge deal.

MemberThanks for all the input, everyone. Sounds like it’s mostly about using the right drill bit and not overthinking it. I’ll probably just give it a shot this weekend and see how it goes.
