MemberI’ve had my Hewelth UVClean for about a month now and it’s been working fine for daily use at the office. But I noticed the rubber seal around the cap feels a bit softer than when I first got it. Anyone else notice this or is it just me? Not really a big deal yet, just wondering if I should keep an eye on it.

Zoe MatthewsMemberHad mine for about two months now and the rubber seal still feels fine to me. Maybe yours just settled in a bit. I’d keep an eye on it but not stress too much unless it starts leaking.

MemberI think the rubber just softens a little from use, mine did that too after a few weeks but it still seals fine. Not something I worry about honestly.

Chris MillerMemberHuh, I haven’t noticed that on mine. I’ve had it for a while now and the seal still feels tight enough. Probably not something I’d stress over unless it actually starts leaking.

MemberI mean, a rubber seal getting a little soft after a month sounds pretty normal to me. Probably just the material warming up from daily use. Unless it’s actually leaking or the cap doesn’t click shut anymore, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Susan KennetMemberI’m still deciding if I want to buy one, so this kind of thing makes me pause a little. I guess it makes sense that rubber might soften a bit over time, but if it’s still sealing fine then it’s probably not a big deal. Hard to tell without trying it myself.

Ryan__TMemberI think it’s probably just the material warming up from regular use. Not totally sure it’s something to worry about unless it actually stops sealing right.

Maria_BakesMemberHuh, I noticed something similar on mine but honestly I just figured it was from the heat of the water or whatever. Still seals up fine when I close it so I haven’t really thought about it past that.

MemberI’d rather have a slightly soft seal than one that’s too stiff and cracks later. Seems fine to me.

LauTopMemberIt’s rubber. It’s gonna change a bit with use and cleaning. If it still seals and doesn’t leak, I wouldn’t overthink it.

Rachel ColeMemberIt’s rubber, it’s gonna get a little softer. If it’s not leaking, I wouldn’t waste time thinking about it.

MemberI’ve had mine for a couple months and honestly didn’t even notice the seal until I saw this thread. Just checked and yeah it’s a little softer but still snaps shut fine. Probably just from opening and closing it all day at work.

Oliver BrooksMemberI haven’t noticed much softening on mine, but I also tend to only use it with cold water so maybe that helps. Still seals fine when I toss it in my bag though.

Emma JarrisMemberI think that kind of thing is pretty normal for rubber after a month of daily use. As long as it still seals fine when I close it I wouldn’t worry about it.

MemberI’ve had mine for about six weeks and honestly haven’t noticed any softening yet, but I mostly use it for cold water so maybe that helps keep the rubber firmer.

MemberI noticed the same thing around the same time as you, but honestly mine still seals perfectly fine and I haven’t had any leaks. I think it’s just the material settling in from regular use.

MemberPretty normal for rubber to break in a little after daily use, I wouldn’t sweat it unless it actually starts leaking. Mine’s been fine for a couple months and the seal still feels tight enough when I close it.

MemberGood to know it’s not just me, sounds like it’s pretty common. I’ll just keep an eye on it and not worry unless it actually starts leaking, mine’s been fine so far anyway.
