I’ve been using the Hewelth UVClean for a few days now. The self-cleaning mode that runs every 6 hours seems convenient, but I’m wondering how much that drains the battery in practice. Has anyone tested how long it lasts with that on? I’m just curious if I need to charge it more often than expected.

I haven’t really paid close attention to the self-cleaning mode drain. I just charge it every few days and it’s been fine, haven’t noticed it dying faster than I expected. Maybe I’m not using it enough to tell.

I’d guess the self-cleaning mode uses basically the same amount of power per cycle as a manual clean, so it shouldn’t be a huge drain unless you’re running it constantly. I just charge mine when I think about it and it’s never died on me mid-day. Probably not something to worry too much about.

I haven’t really tracked it closely, but I’ve had mine running the self-cleaning mode for about two weeks now and I’m still on the original charge. Seems fine to me, not a big deal. I just chuck it on the charger when I think of it.

I’d guess it really depends on how often you actually use the manual clean too. If you’re mostly relying on the self-cleaning mode, it’s probably fine, but I could see it adding up if you’re also hitting the button a few times a day. Still, the battery seems decent enough for a few days of normal use.

Honestly, I haven’t really tested it in a scientific way, but I’ve had mine on self-cleaning for about a week and the battery still seems fine to me. I just charge it when I remember, maybe every 3-4 days. Not totally sure how much the auto mode actually drains it, but it hasn’t been a problem so far.

I think if you’re running the self-cleaning mode every six hours, that’s only four cycles a day, so the claimed 60 cycles per charge should still last you around two weeks maybe. I haven’t tested it myself, but the math seems fine unless the battery degrades faster than expected.

I’d probably just charge it when I think about it and not stress over the self-cleaning mode. It’s only a few minutes every six hours, so it’s not like the battery is going to tank overnight. Seems like one of those things that sounds more dramatic than it actually is.

I just leave the self-cleaning on and charge it whenever, it hasn’t been an issue. If you’re the type who obsesses over battery percentage you’ll probably notice, but I don’t think it’s worth tracking. It’s not like it dies mid-day on you.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like the drain is pretty minor in practice, so I’ll just stop worrying about it and charge when the light comes on. Good enough for me.
