Hey, I’m looking at the Glacier Breeze and I noticed it has a 500 mL water tank. My old evaporative cooler had a bigger tank but it was also way bulkier. I mostly want something for my desk at work and maybe camping. Is 500 mL enough to actually get through a workday without refilling every hour or does it run out fast?

I think 500 mL is fine for a desk if you’re not expecting it to blast cold air all day. I used one similar at work and it lasted most of the morning before I needed to top it off, especially on low fan speed. For camping it’s probably perfect since you can just dump a water bottle in it.

I mean, 500 mL is small but it’s not like you’re trying to cool down a whole room with it. For a desk fan that blows slightly cooler air, it does the job well enough. I just keep a water bottle nearby and top it off when I grab coffee or whatever. It’s not a big deal.

I mean, it really depends on how much you’re expecting it to do. On low it sips water pretty slowly, so I usually just top mine off when I get up to refill my coffee or something. Never really been a problem for me.

I think 500ml is plenty for a desk, especially if you’re not cranking it on max the whole time. I mostly use mine at my desk and it’s not like I’m constantly babysitting the water level. It’s small enough to toss in a bag for camping too, which is way easier than lugging a big cooler around.
