Linda RobinsonMemberGot a Glacier Breeze for my desk but I’m not sure if I’m using it right. Feels more like a damp fan than real cooling. Anyone else notice that?

Lisa BassMemberI think it’s just how these things work honestly. They’re not gonna give you that cold AC blast. The damp feeling means it’s doing its evaporative thing, you just need low humidity for it to actually feel cool.

Daniele RossiMemberMakes sense to me. It’s more of a humidifier with a fan attached than an actual AC. Works fine for keeping the air moving on a warm day though.

MemberI think that damp feeling is just what these things do, it’s not a big deal. Works fine for me when I just want some air moving on my desk without the full AC. I’d say it’s fine for what it is.

MemberThe damp feeling threw me off at first too, but it does cool a little if you use the ice chamber. I just use it to keep air moving and it works fine for that.

MemberIt’s basically a swamp cooler in a tiny box, so the damp air is part of the deal. I noticed right away it’s not gonna blast cold like a window unit, but it does take the edge off if you sit close enough. I mostly use mine on low speed next to my monitor and it keeps me from getting stuffy.

AnnaKParticipantI tossed mine in the backpack for a day at the park and it was fine for keeping the air moving. The cooling is just a bonus if you ask me.

Nina_gadgetMemberPretty sure that damp feeling is just how it works. It’s not gonna feel like an AC unit, it’s more of a breeze with some moisture.

Laura ReadsMemberI’ve been eyeing one of these for camping trips, so it’s helpful seeing people talk about it. Good to know it’s just an evaporative cooler, that’s pretty much what I expected.

Mike ReynoldsMemberNever bothered with the ice chamber. I just use it as a basic fan that adds a little moisture. It’s not gonna replace an AC but it keeps the air from getting stale. Works fine for what it is.

MemberI keep going back and forth on getting one. The damp air thing sounds annoying but I also don’t expect much from something that size.

MemberI think it’s more of a damp fan situation than actual cold air, but that’s kind of what I expected from something that small.

Linda RobinsonMemberGuess that clears it up then. I’ll just use mine as a little desk humidifier with a fan attached. Good enough for what it is.
