Got the DappSmile ultrasonic cleaner a few days ago. Soft mode is actually pretty gentle and the LED light helps see spots. It removed some coffee stains and loosened a bit of plaque but didn’t touch heavy tartar under the gumline. Battery seems fine for short sessions. Anyone with sensitive gums have tips for using it without irritating them?

I kinda disagree that it’s bulky. I think it’s pretty small and light, fits in my bathroom drawer or a travel pouch no problem. Maybe that makes it easier to hold around gums, not totally sure.

I replaced my old scaler with the DappSmile; it’s nicer for quick touch-ups but I’m not convinced it’s a full replacement for professional cleanings.

Pretty handy for quick touch-ups but don’t expect it to replace a pro. I stick to short bursts so my gums don’t freak out.

I grabbed one too and honestly it’s been handy for quick touch-ups, nothing fancy but does the job. Likes that it’s rechargeable and the light actually helps see weird spots.

Maybe try using short, gentle bursts in the soft mode instead of holding it on one spot; that might be less irritating for sensitive gums.

Pro tip: use the included mouth mirror and LED to angle the tip and only go after visible deposits, helps avoid scraping sensitive gums.

I think it’s quieter than the cheap electric scalers I had before, so less awkward to use in the bathroom. Not totally sure if that helps with sensitivity, but it made me less nervous using it around my kid’s mouth.

Soft mode helped my gums, way easier on them. LED light is actually useful and battery lasts for a few short runs. It took off light coffee stains for me.

Soft mode hasn’t been an issue for me, even with sensitive gums. Just don’t press hard and it’s fine.
