I keep going back and forth on the Black Falcon Drone. I just want something for the occasional weekend trip, some basic photos from above, nothing serious. But is it actually simple enough for someone who just wants to unfold it and go, or does the app and setup get in the way? I don’t really want to fiddle with things before every flight.

Honestly, it sounds like overthinking. If you just want something for weekend trips and basic photos, this thing is fine. The setup is basically charge, unfold, and go. I wouldn’t overcomplicate it.

I got one for basically the same reason as you and honestly it’s been fine. The app setup took maybe five minutes the first time, now I just charge the battery and unfold it before I head out. It’s not like you have to recalibrate everything every single flight.

I’ve had mine for a few months now and honestly I barely think about the setup. Charge it, unfold it, connect the phone, and it’s ready. I wouldn’t call it overkill for a casual flyer, it’s pretty straightforward once you get past the first time pairing.

I grabbed one for the same kind of casual use and it’s honestly fine. You charge it, unfold it, connect your phone, and it’s ready to go in a couple minutes. The app is a bit basic but not a hassle. Haven’t had any issues with it feeling like overkill.

It’s probably fine for what you’re describing. I wouldn’t overthink it, most of these things are pretty much the same at this price point. If you don’t want to mess with settings, just leave it on auto and it’ll do the job.

I’ve had mine for a little while now and the main thing I noticed is how easy it is to just toss in a bag. I’m not one for fussing with settings either, so the quick setup works for me.

I mean, if you’re not the type to stress over specs and just want something that works for a quick fly around, it’ll probably do the trick. The app thing is really just a one-time setup to get the live view going, not something you have to mess with every time. I wouldn’t call it overkill for casual use, it’s more like it’s just there when you want it.

If anything it’s probably overkill for just weekend snaps, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. The app thing is blown out of proportion, you pair it once and forget about it. People act like you need a degree to unfold the thing.

Half the complaints about the app setup are from people who probably never even tried it. You pair it once and you’re done.

I think it’s fine for what you’re talking about. The setup is simple and the app works. It might be more than you need but that doesn’t really matter if it does what you want.

Honestly I think it sounds fine for what you want. The foldable part is nice for just throwing in a bag and heading out.

I keep going back and forth too honestly. For weekend trips it probably works fine, but I feel like there’s always a cheaper option that does the same thing for casual use. I’d probably just grab it and not overthink it.

Alright, I just wanted to circle back and say thanks for the thoughts. I ended up grabbing one and honestly for tossing it in a bag for a weekend thing it does what I need without a headache. More than I need probably but I’m not mad about it.
