Does the Nunawave Oral Care Pro feel different from a regular night guard?

I had the opposite experience honestly. The Nunawave felt less intrusive than my old pharmacy guard because it doesn’t have that hard plastic shell that always dug into my gums. Took maybe two nights to get used to, but I actually prefer the fit now.

The Nunawave is more flexible and it molds closer to your teeth, so it feels less noticeable when you first put it in. But that also means if you shift around at night or clench in a certain way, it can work itself loose. Not fall out completely, just slide enough that you wake up and it feels off. Took me maybe two weeks before my mouth stopped fighting it.

The part nobody warned me about was the cleaning routine. With the cheap guard I just rinsed it and tossed it in a case. This one has the electronics and the charging dock, so you have to be more careful with water and make sure it is dry before you charge it. Not a dealbreaker, just extra steps I did not think about when I bought it.

For the actual grinding protection, it does the job. I have not noticed any new tooth sensitivity since switching. But if you are the type who wants to put something in and forget about it until morning, the adjustment period might annoy you for a bit.

I wouldn’t say it’s harder to get used to, just different enough that you notice it at first. If you’re already used to sleeping with a guard, it’s not a huge leap.
