MemberSo I got the Qinux PolarBreeze a few days ago and it works fine for my desk, but I was wondering about the battery. Does it drain faster if you keep the oscillation on or is it mostly the fan speed that matters? Just trying to figure out how long I can use it before needing to plug it back in.

MemberOscillation probably eats a bit more battery since it’s moving the whole unit, but honestly I’d guess the fan speed is the bigger drain. I just run mine on low and it lasts long enough for a work day, so I don’t overthink it.

MemberI just leave the oscillation on most of the time and don’t really notice it killing the battery much faster. The fan speed definitely makes a bigger difference in my experience. If you’re worried about runtime, just drop it to a lower speed and you’ll get plenty of time out of it.

Lisa HydrowMemberI barely touch the oscillation control honestly. I just set it to a medium speed and let it run. The battery lasts me through a work day and I plug it in when I leave.

MemberI think the oscillation probably uses a little extra power since it’s an extra motor moving, but I’d guess the fan speed is the main factor. On lower speeds mine seems to run for a good while before needing a charge anyway.

MemberOscillation definitely uses extra power, but I doubt it’s enough to really matter unless you’re trying to stretch every last minute. I run mine on high speed most of the time and that drains it noticeably faster than anything else.

Laura CheckMemberI haven’t really tested it, but I just keep mine on low speed with oscillation and it lasts me most of the day without issue. Not totally sure if the oscillation makes a big difference, but it works fine for my desk setup.

MemberOscillation uses a tiny bit more juice but it’s not worth overthinking. If you’re running it on high speed the battery will drain quick regardless. I just plug mine in whenever it dies and don’t worry about it.

MemberI just keep mine on low speed with oscillation and it seems to last a good while, so I haven’t really thought about it. I guess if I needed every bit of battery I’d turn the oscillation off, but it works fine for me as is.

Oliver BrooksMemberI’d guess the fan speed is the main factor since the motor for oscillation is pretty small. I run mine on medium without oscillation and it lasts maybe 5-6 hours, which is enough for me.

MemberI usually just run mine on low with oscillation and it lasts me through a work day without much trouble. Haven’t really tested it on high though.

Susan KennetMemberI’d guess the fan speed is the bigger factor, but I honestly wouldn’t worry too much about the oscillation. The motor for that is pretty small so it probably doesn’t eat up much battery.

MemberOscillation does drain the battery a bit, but the speed setting is definitely where you’ll see the big drop. I keep mine on the middle speed and it runs for a decent chunk of the day, but cranking it up cuts that pretty noticeably.
