Does PestVault actually keep rodents away or just mask smells?

Honestly, if you’re already seeing droppings, the pouches probably aren’t going to cut it alone. They’re more of a preventative thing, not a cleanup crew.

I tossed a couple in my shed and honestly couldn’t tell if it actually kept anything away or if I just stopped noticing the smell after a week. It’s hard to judge unless you’re really paying attention to droppings or damage.

I think it’s hard to tell if it’s actually working or if you just got lucky with no mice that month. I tossed some in my attic and didn’t see any activity, but it could’ve been coincidence.

I think it’s probably more of a deterrent than a full solution. I used them in my RV and didn’t notice any problems, but I also wasn’t exactly watching for mouse activity either.

It’s not supposed to cover up smells, it’s supposed to make the place smell bad to rodents. Worked fine in my crawlspace, but you still have to seal up gaps or it’s pointless.

I think people overthink this a bit. It’s just a scent pouch, not some high-tech solution. If you put it in a small enclosed space like a garage closet or a tool cabinet, it probably helps, but expecting it to single-handedly clear out an entire garage is asking too much.

Honestly, if you’re just tossing one in a big garage I’d keep expectations low. I put a couple in a closet and it’s been fine, but I’m not sure it’d do much in a wide open space.

I think people expect too much from a little pouch. It’s not gonna work miracles if you’ve got mice already living in there. But I tossed a couple in my RV last fall and didn’t see any signs of visitors, so it seemed to do something. Hard to prove it was the pouch and not just luck though.

I’ve had a different experience with it. I put a couple pouches in my basement near where I’d seen signs of mice and I haven’t spotted any new droppings in over a month. It’s not magic or anything, but it seems to be doing its job for me.
