I’m thinking about getting one but I’m not sure if I can just turn it on here and there or if it needs to run constantly. Also does it actually help with fridge smells or is it more of a gimmick? I don’t want to deal with filters so that part sounds nice. Just trying to figure out if it’s worth it for a normal fridge. Thanks.

Mine definitely needs to stay on to do anything useful. I tried just hitting boost mode after something smelled funky and it barely made a dent, but leaving it running on everyday mode keeps things neutral. The battery thing is real though, I plug mine in every couple weeks or so.

I mostly just want it for the smell part, not the freshness stuff. A friend has one and she said it works okay if you keep it running, but it’s not magic if you leave old leftovers in there. The no filters thing is what caught my eye too.

Mine stays in the fridge full time and the smell thing is honestly whatever. The bigger difference for me was stuff lasting longer, like spinach and berries not going slimy as fast. No filters is the main reason I kept it.

Probably needs to stay on, yeah.

Mine actually did fine when I only ran it a few hours a day. I kept it off most of the time and just charged it up when the fridge started smelling, and that worked for me. Maybe mine’s just a lucky one.

Mine only really does anything if it runs continuously. I left it off for a couple weeks and the fridge went right back to smelling like leftover onions, so I just keep it on now. No filters is the main reason I kept it.

I think the constant-on question really depends on what you’re expecting from it. I had mine running for about three weeks straight and the smell situation in my fridge was noticeably better, but when I let the battery die and didn’t recharge it for a few days, things started going back to normal pretty quick. So for me it’s more of a maintenance thing than a one-time fix. It’s not like you can just toss it in there and forget about it forever. The no-filter part is nice though, I’ll give it that. I don’t miss hunting down replacement cartridges like I did with my old one. Is it a gimmick? I don’t think so, but I also don’t think it’s magic. If your fridge already has a serious odor problem from something spilled and never cleaned, this won’t fix that. It’s more for keeping things neutral day to day.

Mine has been sitting in the fridge nonstop since I got it and I just top up the charge when the light tells me to. Running it here and there never made much sense to me.

The no filter thing is why I grabbed it. Baking soda boxes were always getting knocked over in there.

Mine actually worked fine when I only ran it overnight a few times a week, so I don’t think it has to be on 24/7 to do something. Fridge smells came back after a while though, so it’s more of a temporary help than a permanent fix. I still think it’s worth trying if you just want less odor without dealing with filters.

Probably on all the time or it’s pointless.

Filters aren’t the issue, but the always-on thing kind of is. Mine sat in the fridge for a month and did basically nothing until I started leaving it running nonstop.

Mine ran nonstop and still didn’t do much.

I’d just leave it in all the time if I were you. Mine lives in the door and I plug it in when the light comes on, that’s the whole routine. No filters to mess with is honestly the best part for me.
