MemberI got my SynGas a few weeks back and it’s been fine so far. But I went on a trip and didn’t drive for about 10 days. Wondering if the device forgets what it learned or if it picks up again quickly after that break.

JSmithParticipantProbably picks up again quickly. I wouldn’t worry about a 10 day gap, the device isn’t that delicate.

MemberI wouldn’t overthink it. A ten day break is nothing, the thing probably just picks up where it left off after a few miles.

Mike RunnerMemberNot sure why everyone assumes it picks up instantly. Ten days unplugged and you think it remembers anything? I’d want to see proof before believing that.

KhanMemberI think it’s probably fine. The learning is based on how you drive, not how long it sits.

MemberI haven’t had mine long enough to test a ten day gap myself, but honestly the whole “learning” thing feels a bit vague. I just plug it in and drive, not really tracking what it remembers or forgets.

MemberFrom what I’ve seen, it’s not like it forgets everything. More like it just needs a few drives to recalibrate after sitting.

MemberI think people overthink the learning thing a bit. Mine sat for two weeks once and it seemed fine after a day or two of normal driving.

Carla82MemberHonestly, I think it’s fine. Mine sat for a bit over two weeks once and it didn’t feel like it had to start from scratch. Just took a short drive to feel normal again.

MemberI wouldn’t worry about it too much. The learning is probably stored somewhere even when the car is off, not like it resets every time you park it. Might take a few miles to get back in the groove after a long break, but I doubt you lose all that data.

MarkD87MemberProbably nothing to worry about. The learning is based on how you drive, not how long it sits parked. Even if it takes a couple drives to feel normal again, that’s still way less than the initial setup. I wouldn’t overthink it.

SarahMParticipantI’d probably just take it for a quick drive around town before jumping back into highway miles. That way it can get back in the groove without me worrying about it.

Luis_A91MemberI wouldn’t overthink it. These things don’t just wipe their memory because the car sat for a week or two.

Laura CheckMemberI’d just go with it. Mine sat for almost two weeks and the learning didn’t seem to reset, just felt normal again after a short drive.

MemberHonestly I wouldn’t worry about it. It picks back up pretty quick once you start driving again.
