I’ve had my WineCork Pro for a bit now and it works fine on regular corks, no complaints there. But last weekend I opened a bottle with a synthetic cork and it felt like it struggled a little, kind of slow and I had to hold it steady more than usual. Anyone else notice that or was it just me?

Mine handles synthetic corks fine, but I can see what you mean about it feeling different. The synthetic ones always seem to grip tighter in my experience, so the motor has to work a bit harder. As long as it’s pulling straight, I don’t worry about it.

I think the synthetic corks just have more grip, so the motor has to work a little harder. Mine does the same thing, especially with the firmer ones that feel almost plasticky. It has never gotten stuck or left chunks behind though, just sounds more strained for a second. I would not call it a real problem unless yours is actually stopping mid-pull.

I’ve only used mine on a couple of synthetics so far, and honestly I didn’t notice it struggling, but those were the softer kind. The firmer ones do feel like they grab more, so I can see how it might slow down a bit. I just made sure to hold the base tight and it got through fine.
