MemberOkay so I finally got the Breezi AC for my desk and it’s been fine so far, but I’m wondering if I’m missing out by not using ice. I know it says it works without it, but does anyone actually notice a big difference? I’m too lazy to keep refreezing ice packs every day, but if it’s a huge improvement I might start.

MemberI never bother with ice and honestly don’t think it’s worth the hassle. The difference is noticeable for maybe the first ten minutes and then you’re just dealing with lukewarm water anyway. The fan itself does most of the work if you sit close enough. Unless you’re in a really brutal room, skip the ice.

Nina WhiteMemberI use mine without ice most of the time and it’s still decent for direct desk cooling. Ice does make it feel colder for a bit, but it levels out pretty fast once the water warms up. I only bother with ice if I already have some on hand.

Mike in TXMemberIce masks the fact that the fan itself is doing the work. Not worth the hassle.

Lisa BassMemberI’m probably the odd one out here but I actually do use ice most days. Not because the difference is huge, but because I already have those little gel packs in my freezer for my lunch bag, so it’s zero extra effort for me. I just swap one in when I refill the water in the morning and it does feel colder for a good while, at least through the afternoon. Without it, the air still moves fine and it’s not useless, but I notice I end up pointing it closer to my face. With ice I can set it a bit further back and still feel it. If I had to remember to freeze something every night just for this, I probably wouldn’t bother though. I think it depends on whether you already have the packs around.

MemberI don’t get the ice thing at all. If the fan is hitting you directly it’s already doing what it needs to do, and ice just adds extra work for maybe ten minutes of slightly colder air. I’d rather just keep a bottle of cold water nearby and skip the freezer routine.

Laura CheckMemberI keep a couple of ice packs in rotation but mostly because I like the cold mist feeling on my face. Without ice it still cools the area around my desk fine, but the ice does make it feel more like an actual AC for a while. If you’re lazy about it, you’re not missing out on much.

KhanMemberThe whole ice thing seems like a lot of extra work for what you get. I tried it a few times when I first got mine and yeah, the air feels cooler for maybe fifteen minutes, but then you’re just stuck with a wet mess at the bottom and a pack that needs to go back in the freezer. For me, the fan alone is doing the heavy lifting anyway. If it’s pointed right at you, it’s doing its job. The ice is more of a gimmick for that initial blast of cold. I’d rather just use the water tank and not have to plan my day around freezer space. It’s still a solid little desk cooler without it.

MemberI tried the ice once and honestly the extra chill only lasted maybe 20 minutes before it was just wet air again. For the effort of refreezing packs every morning, it’s not worth it to me. The fan on high does the real work anyway.

MemberI think it kinda depends on how close the thing is to you. If it’s sitting right next to your arm, the ice is a nice extra but not a game changer. If you’ve got it a foot or two away, that’s when I noticed the cold air actually reaching me. But yeah, the refreezing thing got old for me after like two days.
23 de August de 2026 at 05:17 #7788Maya Rose
MemberI have a tiny fan pointing at me from like two feet away and honestly the ice makes it feel like a whole different thing for the first little bit. But the melt happens fast, especially on a really hot day, so I save the ice for when I’m really suffering and just use water the rest of the time.

MemberI guess I’m the odd one out here but I don’t really bother with the ice. The regular water mode is fine for me, especially when it’s just sitting on my desk blowing my way. I tried the ice once and it felt nice for a bit but then I had to deal with the wet sponge smell afterward, so I stopped.

MemberThe ice is a waste of time. I tried it a couple times and the extra cold feeling went away fast, so I stopped bothering. The thing still does its job with plain water, which is all I really care about on a hot day.

Tom BriggsMemberI gave ice a shot once and the first ten minutes are great, but then it just turns into a regular mister. The effort of keeping packs frozen isn’t worth that tiny window for me. I just use cold water from the fridge and it does the job for a desk.
23 de August de 2026 at 05:46 #7794Maya Chen
MemberI skip the ice and honestly don’t feel like I’m missing much. The regular mist still cools down my little corner of the room fine, especially if I use cold tap water. Refreezing packs just feels like extra work for a temporary boost.

MemberI actually like mine without ice, and I tried it both ways. The ice gives you that initial blast of cold but it melts so fast that I found myself annoyed by the end of the day. The regular mist still does the job for me, especially with the fan on high.
23 de August de 2026 at 06:18 #7802Dan T.
MemberSkip the ice. The whole point of this thing is that you don’t have to babysit it. Yeah, the first couple minutes are colder with ice, but then you’re stuck swapping packs out all day and it’s just a chore. Regular water and pointing it at your face does the job fine.
23 de August de 2026 at 06:39 #7805
LunaMemberI keep a stash of frozen water bottles in my freezer and swap them in when I remember, but honestly the days I skip it are totally fine too. The ice gives you that nice cold punch for a bit, but the mister still does its job without it. I wouldn’t stress about keeping up with ice packs unless you’re sitting right next to it and want that extra chill.
23 de August de 2026 at 06:54 #7808
Mike89ParticipantIce is the whole fun of it though, that first blast of cold actually feels like real AC.
23 de August de 2026 at 07:14 #7811Tara Grace
MemberI think the ice thing is more about the initial shock of cold air than actual long-term cooling. The regular mist already does the job for me, and I don’t have to plan ahead or remember to freeze anything. If I happen to have ice sitting there, sure, but I’m not going out of my way for it.
23 de August de 2026 at 07:28 #7814Jessie Travels
MemberGuess that settles it, no ice for me then.
