I keep seeing the Black Falcon Drone pop up when I look for a cheap foldable drone for travel videos, and the specs sound decent for the price. But I’m wondering how it really does if there’s a bit of a breeze, since I mostly fly near the coast. Anyone here tried it on a slightly windy day and had it stay stable enough for usable footage?

It’s a lightweight foldable drone, so you’re not going to get rock-solid footage in a proper coastal breeze, but for a bit of wind it’s usually fine. I’ve seen people fly them near the beach without too much drama. Just don’t expect it to hold position like something pricier.

I mean, it’s light enough that you’ll notice if the wind picks up, but I wouldn’t call it unusable near the coast. I just pick my days and keep the flights short, and the clips look fine for what they are.

It works okay in a light breeze, but I wouldn’t push it. If you’re set on flying near the coast just pick a calm day and you’ll get some usable clips.

I’d probably just look at the weight and expect it to get pushed around if the wind picks up. Not totally sure why people expect a cheap foldable to be a rock in the air. If it’s working for you near the coast on a calm day that’s fine, but maybe don’t try to fly it in actual wind and then complain.

I guess it depends how strong the breeze actually is near you. I’ve seen clips where it handles a light gust fine, but anything more and you’re probably editing out wobbles.

I wouldn’t overthink it for the price. It’s light, so you’ll feel the wind, but I’ve had worse luck with other cheap drones in the same breeze. The footage stays usable if you’re not expecting gimbal-level stability.
