I keep seeing SavingStars pop up in my feed and I’m wondering if it actually helps with kitchen drains that are just slow, not fully blocked. I have the usual grease and food gunk buildup I’m guessing, and I’m curious if the foaming stuff can handle that or if I’d need something stronger.

It’s fine for a slow kitchen drain. I used it on mine and the foaming cleared out the gunk in one go. Nothing special but it does the job.

I picked up a box for my bathroom sink and it did okay, but for kitchen drains I think I’d rather just use boiling water and baking soda. I don’t know, the foaming stuff feels like it works better on hair than on grease.

Honestly I’d probably just give it a shot for a slow kitchen drain. It’s not like you’re dealing with a full clog so the foaming stuff should be enough to break up the grease without needing anything harsh. Worst case you waste a few bucks but it’s worth trying before you mess with stronger chemicals.

I think it probably works fine for a slow drain since it’s not like you’re fighting a full blockage. The foaming stuff might help loosen things up a bit. Not totally sure how it compares to something stronger though.

I’ve seen it around too but haven’t tried it for kitchen drains yet. I mostly use it on the bathroom sink and it helps with the smell more than anything else. Kinda doubt foam alone cuts through a bunch of old grease without some manual help.

I’d say just try it and see. Worst case you’re out a few bucks and it didn’t work, but it’s not like the stuff is expensive.

I bought a tub of it for my kitchen sink a few weeks ago and it’s been fine for the slow draining issue I had. The foam seems to get in there and loosen stuff up without needing to take anything apart. Not a miracle cure but it did what I needed.

Slow kitchen drain? It’ll probably help a bit. Don’t expect magic if you’ve got years of gunk in there, but for basic grease it’s fine.

Good to know it’s working for some people, thanks for the replies. I’ll probably give it a shot since it’s not too pricey and sounds like it handles basic grease okay. We’ll see how it goes.

For slow drains I’d say it’s a decent first try but don’t expect it to fix years of buildup in one go. I used it on mine and it helped for a bit but I still had to bust out the plunger after a couple weeks. Fine for maintenance, not a miracle worker.
