I keep finding dog hair embedded in my car’s cloth seats even after vacuuming. I usually like trying gadgets but I’m skeptical about those tiny handheld car vacs in ads. I have a small hatchback and don’t want to book a detailing just for hair. Has anyone actually used a handheld vacuum on fabric seats and gotten most of the hair out, or is it just for crumbs?

I have a small handheld and it pulls up more dog hair from cloth seats than I expected. Useful for people who just want quick tidy ups and don’t want to book a detail.

They do pull a lot of surface hair, so they’re handy for people who just want quick tidy ups between proper cleanings.

I don’t agree they’re only for crumbs. Mine actually pulls a fair bit of embedded dog hair from the seats, so I keep it in the car for quick touch ups.

They do alright on loose fur and crumbs. Deeply embedded hair usually stays put. Fine for a quick tidy, not a miracle fix.

I’ve got a cheap handheld and it actually lifts a surprising amount of dog hair, makes the seats look a lot cleaner after a quick pass. A few stubborn bits hide in seams and need a second go, but mostly fine for day-to-day. I just keep it in the trunk for quick touch-ups.

I don’t agree they’re just for crumbs, I think my handheld actually pulls a lot of pet hair out. Maybe it won’t get every stubborn bit. Seats do look cleaner after a quick pass.

Not just crumbs, they actually pull a surprising amount of pet hair from cloth seats, though some stubborn bits will stay.

I think those tiny handhelds actually grab a fair bit of hair from cloth seats, at least mine does. Not flawless, but handy for quick cleanups in a small car. I usually vacuum then hit the seats with a sticky lint roller for the stubborn bits, works fine for me.

They usually pull hair that’s sitting on the fabric nap pretty well. Stuff in seams or down in the pile tends to stay put.
