MemberI have been using the BareEarth Grounding Mat under my desk for a few weeks and it feels fine, not sure if it actually helps me relax or if I am just imagining it. Anyone else notice a real difference with sleep or stress or is it more of a mental thing?

Noah KentMemberI was kind of on the fence with mine, but after a few months I actually do think it takes the edge off my general restlessness. Not a game changer or anything, but I sleep through the night more often than before.

MemberI wouldnt overthink it. If you feel fine using it, thats probably all that matters. Placebo or not, if it helps you relax a bit, who cares. Half the stuff people buy for “wellness” is mostly in their head anyway.

Tom W98MemberPlacebo or not, if it makes you feel better who really cares. The whole grounding thing sounds a bit new age to me, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

AnnaKParticipantA few months in and I’m pretty sure it helps me wind down at night. Not a huge dramatic change, but I definitely feel a bit more settled.

RiversMemberI mean, it’s just a mat you plug into the wall. If it makes you feel less jittery, cool, but I wouldn’t expect it to fix anything serious. Feels more like a comfort blanket for adults than actual science.

JSmithParticipantI wouldn’t overthink it. If it helps you relax a little, that’s all that really matters. I just use mine under my desk and it seems fine.

no_sleepParticipantPlacebo or not, if it chills you out a bit who cares. I mostly just like having something soft under my feet while I’m at my desk.

Mike ReynoldsMemberSome people get way too hung up on whether it’s placebo or not. If you feel better using it, that’s literally the whole point.

MemberI’ve had mine for a while now and honestly never really noticed much either way, but I did stop waking up with restless legs as often. Could be a coincidence though.

MemberMine lives under my desk too. I figure worst case I get a decent footrest out of it.

MemberIt’s just a mat, man. People get way too worked up over whether it’s placebo or not. If you feel a bit more relaxed using it, that’s all that really matters.

MemberHard to say if it’s doing anything real, but I figure it’s not hurting either. I think mine helps a bit with general restlessness, but I’m not totally sure it’s the mat or just me settling down. Seems fine for what it is.

MemberI figure if it helps you relax a bit, that’s not nothing, even if it’s all in your head. I tried one for a while and honestly couldn’t tell if it was doing anything, but I didn’t hate having it around either. Probably not a game changer for most people.
17 de June de 2026 at 14:27 #3255
Laura ReadsMemberI think it’s probably a mix of both for most people, but that doesn’t really matter if it works for you. I’ve been thinking about getting one for my desk just to see if it takes the edge off during the workday.
17 de June de 2026 at 15:53 #3260
Rob CMemberPlacebo or not, at least it doubles as a decent footrest. That’s more than my overpriced yoga mat does.

MemberI’ve had mine for a couple months now and I sleep noticeably better with it under the sheet. Could be placebo but I’m not losing sleep over that.
17 de June de 2026 at 18:31 #3268
Laura CheckMemberI think people overthink these mats way too much. If it feels nice to put your feet on, that’s probably enough. I wouldn’t stress about whether it’s placebo or not.
17 de June de 2026 at 19:15 #3271
Ryan__TMemberI’m in the same boat. It’s not like I feel dramatically different, but I don’t feel worse either, so I just keep using it. Hard to argue with something that’s not causing any problems and might be doing a little something.
17 de June de 2026 at 20:06 #3274
Tom CallMemberI think it’s fine but not really a game changer. I wouldn’t call it placebo, just not that big of a deal either way.
