Does Guardality work if my cards are stacked in a regular wallet?

I’ve had one sitting in my wallet for a few months now. It works fine even with everything stacked together, I just keep it behind my cards and don’t think about it. Some people act like you need perfect placement, but I haven’t noticed any issues.

I was wondering the same thing before I got mine, honestly. I keep mine in the card slot right behind my main cards and I haven’t had any issues with random scans. I think the signal blocking works across the whole wallet area, not just right next to whatever card is being read.

The positioning makes less difference than people think. I keep mine in the middle of a stuffed wallet and my cards don’t get scanned. Honestly, the bigger issue is remembering to put it back if you take it out when paying at a terminal.

I get why you’re asking, but honestly with a regular wallet I’d just keep it behind the cards you care about most. I’ve seen people toss it in any slot and assume it’s doing something, but I’m not convinced it covers everything when stuff is crammed in there. Better safe than sorry.

The position thing gets overthought. I get the concern because the idea of a card in a stack sounds like it should block everything, but that’s not really how it plays out in practice. The card is just sitting there with your other cards, it’s not like it needs direct contact with each one to do its job. The signal has to pass through the whole wallet anyway, so it either gets blocked or it doesn’t.

I keep mine in the slot closest to the outside of the wallet, not even near the cards I actually use. That’s just where it ended up and I never bothered moving it. If it were that sensitive to exact placement, I figure I would have noticed by now, because I’ve been through plenty of crowded train stations and busy markets where people are brushing against you constantly. Nothing’s ever pinged on my card reader after the fact, and I check that stuff regularly.

I think people expect this thing to work like some kind of force field with strict boundaries, but really it’s just a solid layer of material in the way. Stacking cards on top of it or having it off to the side doesn’t change the fact that it’s still in the wallet. Unless you’re carrying it in a separate pocket, which kind of defeats the point, it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. I would not lose sleep over where exactly it sits.

The way I see it, the thing is thin enough that it doesn’t add bulk, so even if it only works half as well as advertised, it’s still better than carrying nothing. I’ve had mine for a few months now and I just forget it’s in there.

I tried it in a regular leather wallet with everything just thrown in together and it worked fine for me. I tested it at a reader once just to see and nothing went through. I think as long as it is somewhere in there it does the job.
