Is the Qinux VultrioX supposed to throw a bit of debris while cutting?

I have a similar steel head and yeah, they do throw stuff around. The wires grab and flick everything up, way more than nylon ever did. I just wear eye protection and keep the speed a bit lower near anything I don’t want peppered with debris. Sounds pretty normal to me.

That’s just the trade-off with steel wires, I think. They cut so aggressively that everything gets kicked up harder, especially near the ground where the dirt is loose. I noticed mine does the same on dry patches, so I just try to keep the head a bit higher off the soil and it helps some.

Mine throws plenty of debris too, especially when the grass is damp or the ground is loose. I just accept it as the price for how fast it chews through stuff. I wouldn’t overthink it. If it’s cutting well, that’s what the thing is supposed to do.

The first time I ran mine along a dry patch of lawn I thought the same thing. It looked like a mini dirt storm behind me. What I noticed after a few uses is that a lot of it comes down to how much throttle you’re giving it. I backed off the trigger a little and kept the head just above the soil instead of digging in, and it calmed down quite a bit.

Still throws stuff, no question. But I found that a decent chunk of it was me trying to cut too low and too fast. The steel wires are stiff so they don’t bend away like nylon, they just hammer through everything and send it flying. You kind of adjust your angle after a while and it becomes less of a mess.

Yeah that sounds about right. With the steel wires being so rigid, they don’t bend like nylon so everything that gets hit just goes flying. I’d say if it’s cutting well and not throwing huge chunks, you’re probably fine to just keep going.

That’s normal. The steel wires are so much stiffer than nylon that they don’t fold back, so everything they hit gets launched instead of pushed down. I noticed the same thing when I used mine near a flower bed. You’re not doing anything wrong, it’s just a trade-off for the cutting speed.

I noticed the same thing when I used mine around the patio stones. The stiff wires really grab onto everything, so little pebbles and dry grass bits go everywhere. I just wear my old glasses and take it slower when I’m near anything I don’t want pelted.
