WineCork Pro vs. old rabbit-style opener – quieter or not?

Never really noticed the noise being an issue when my brother used his at a family dinner. It was more of a low hum than anything startling.

I’ve never used a rabbit-style one, but I’ve seen the WineCork Pro at a store demo and it was just a short buzz. Nothing that would turn heads at a dinner table.

I’ve never really minded the pop from a regular opener to be honest, it’s almost part of the ritual for me. But if noise is bugging you, the WineCork Pro definitely has a softer sound, more of a quick buzz than a bang. I actually prefer the little pop, feels more satisfying.

I think the noise thing is overblown honestly. I’ve got a rabbit style and it’s never bothered anyone at my table, it’s just a quick pop. The WineCork Pro might be a bit quieter but I’d rather spend the money on better wine than worry about a sound that lasts half a second.

I’m probably overthinking it too, but I’d lean toward the WineCork Pro just to avoid that pop sound. The motor hum seems like it’d blend into background noise better than a sudden crack.

I think it probably depends more on your own tolerance for the pop than anything else. I always figured the rabbit-style ones are pretty quiet if you just let the cork come out naturally. The motor hum on an electric one might be less noticeable to other people but could be annoying in its own way if it’s a cheap model. Not totally sure if it’s worth switching just for noise.

Funny enough, I actually find the pop from the rabbit style kind of satisfying too, but I can see how it’d get annoying if you’re opening a few bottles in a row. The WineCork Pro motor hum is pretty low-key, I wouldn’t worry about it bothering anyone at dinner unless you’re dead silent.
