Qinux AquaSylk: worth it in hard water?

    Bought Qinux AquaSylk a month ago. Water feels a bit stronger and my hair is less crunchy, so that part works. Filter shows scale already and I worry about replacement cost and actual longevity. Anyone in a hard water area stick with these long term and how often do you change the filter?

    I live in a hard-water area and my AquaSylk started showing scale in about 6 to 8 weeks, so I end up swapping the cartridge every 2 months or so. Kind of annoying cost-wise but my hair actually improved, so I keep buying replacements, maybe someone with softer water gets longer life.

    Replacement cartridges are what annoyed me most, but I did notice softer hair so I kept using it for a while. If the improvement matters to you, it’s worth trying long enough to decide if the ongoing cost is acceptable.

    Replacement cost is the real kicker, so do the math for a year and see if the softer hair justifies it. If it genuinely makes a difference for you, budgeting for replacements feels more sensible than switching back and forth.

    Tried an AquaSylk and my hair did get softer, but the filter gummed up way faster than I expected for what it costs. Not sure I want a constant replacement subscription just for nicer showers. Still on the fence since it actually feels better.

    I’ve had one in proper hard water for about a year. Filters gunk up quicker than they claim, I swap mine every 3 months and replacements add up. Hair and skin are noticeably better so I keep it despite the cost. If you’re on a tight budget, it’s a comfort upgrade, not a whole-house solution.

    Looks promising, but how fast does the spray weaken once the cartridge loads up? If it starts choking the flow that’s when replacements become a real pain long term.

    Thanks for the replies, I checked my head this morning. The cartridge is already cloudy and the spray is a bit weaker after a month, so I’ll probably plan on swapping every 3 months like others mentioned. Annoying expense but showers are nicer so I’ll keep it for now.

    I mean, it’s a shower head filter, not some life-changing gadget. Mine works fine for the soft water feel, and I just replace the cartridge when the spray gets annoying. Seems like a pretty normal trade-off to me.

    Hard water area here. I just treat the filter like a consumable and swap it when the pressure drops. Not the cheapest thing but my hair feels less straw-like so I’m okay with it.
