So I stuck the ODIN SafeWave EMF on the back of my white tablet yesterday and now I’m second guessing how it looks. It’s not super obvious but you can definitely see the rectangle if you’re looking for it. Does anyone else have it on a light colored device? I’m probably overthinking it.

I’ve got one on the back of a white phone and honestly it bothered me for about a day and then I stopped noticing it completely. The way I see it, it’s basically the same as having a clear case or a sticker on there. Once it’s on your device you just kind of tune it out.

What actually helped in my case was the color of the sticker itself. Mine’s a light gray so it blends in way better than I expected against the white. If yours is a darker color that might be why it stands out more to you.

The other thing I’d say is that the rectangle is only obvious at certain angles. Straight on you barely see it, it’s more when the light hits it from the side. So depending on how you’re holding your tablet most of the time, it might be a total non issue in practice. Anyway, that’s just my take.

I actually ended up moving mine to the inside of my case instead. Not for the looks, but because the tablet lives in a folio most of the time anyway and I figured if I was going to see a rectangle every time I flipped it open, I might as well stick it somewhere I don’t stare at. On a white back it’s just kind of there, and for me that got old faster than I expected. Everyone’s different on that front though.

The thing I’d actually pay attention to is whether you’re using a case. Mine sits under a clear-ish shell on one device and you can sort of see the outline through it, which honestly looks a little stranger than it did on the bare back. On the tablet I left it exposed and after a couple of weeks I mostly forgot it existed until I handed the thing to someone else and they asked what the sticker was. So it’s less about me noticing and more about other people noticing, if that makes sense.

If it were me, I’d leave it where it is for a bit and see if it fades into the background for you. If you’re still bugged by it after a week or two, that’s probably your answer and you can peel it and re-stick it somewhere less visible, like the inside of a case or the bottom edge. I did that with one of mine and it stuck fine the second time, no drama. Just don’t rush the decision while it still feels new.

Visible rectangle on a white tablet is exactly what you should expect. There is no magic invisible version of this thing. I put one on my daughter’s white earbud case a few months ago and you can absolutely tell it’s there when you look at it. That’s just how it goes with anything adhesive on a light surface.

What gets me is people acting surprised about it like the product is supposed to blend in perfectly. It’s a sticker. Stickers show up on white. Mine has been on there since spring and it hasn’t peeled or turned yellow or anything, so at least it holds up fine. If the look really bugs you, that’s a you problem, not a product flaw.

I don’t buy the idea that it needs to be hidden to work. Mine sits right there in plain sight and does whatever it does. The aesthetics part is just personal preference.

Mine’s on a black laptop so it basically disappears, but I did put one on a light gray Switch case and yeah, you can see it. I don’t care enough to move it though, it’s just a sticker to me.

Wouldn’t put one on a white device myself, not because it looks bad but because I’d keep picking at the edges. My partner has one on a dark blue case and it blends in fine, but on lighter stuff I feel like it’d always catch my eye. Probably not a big deal though.

It’s a sticker. Of course you can see it on a white tablet. I put one on my white e-reader and it’s been there six months. Still visible, still fine.

There’s a trick I learned after ruining one of mine: if you ever peel it off to reposition, do it slowly and warm the back of the tablet a little first. I yanked mine off cold and it took a bit of the finish with it, left a faint dull spot. The sticker itself was fine, just the tablet that suffered. So if the look is bugging you enough to move it, go slow. Otherwise you kind of get used to the rectangle after a week or so. Mine’s still visible on a light device and I stopped caring once it settled in.

A white tablet is going to show any sticker you put on it, that’s just how it goes. What I’d actually think about is whether the thing is even doing anything. I tried one of these on a router a while back and never noticed a single difference in anything. No speed change, no heat change, nothing. So the visible rectangle would bug me way more than any benefit I got from it. If it’s already stuck on there and you don’t hate looking at it, fine, but I wouldn’t buy a second one for another light colored device just to deal with the same eyesore again. At least peel it off before it sets for good if you decide it’s not worth it.

I had one on a white phone case for a few weeks and the rectangle bugged me more than I expected, mainly because it collected lint around the edges. Ended up moving it to the inside of the case instead and that solved it for me. Not sure if that works on a tablet though.

I actually kind of like the visible sticker thing on lighter devices. Sounds odd but I have a clear phone case and a white tablet, and I stuck one on the case rather than the tablet itself. On the case it almost reads like a little badge or something, so it doesn’t bug me the way I thought it would. My main preference is keeping stickers off the actual device though, mostly because I change cases a lot and I don’t want to deal with residue. So the case is my go to spot. If you’re the type who likes a totally clean look then yeah a white tablet will always show it, but I don’t think it looks weird on its own. It just looks like you put something on there on purpose. The only thing I’d watch is lining it up straight the first time, because mine was slightly crooked and that bothered me way more than the color did.

I have one on a white laptop lid and it’s visible, but it just looks like a small plain label to me. Nobody’s ever asked about it. If the look bugs you on the tablet, that’s fair, but it’s not going to stand out to anyone else.

Mine’s on a light gray case and yeah, you can tell it’s there if you look. Doesn’t really bother me though. I figure anyone close enough to notice the rectangle is close enough that I’ve got bigger things to think about.

Mine’s on a black case so I never see it.

Mine actually blends in better on my white e-reader than it did on the dark one I had before, so I don’t think light devices automatically make it look worse. Maybe it depends on the finish of the surface.

Visible rectangle on a white tablet is just what it is. Whether that bugs you is personal. I’d care more about whether the thing does anything measurable, and I haven’t seen proof it does.

I keep going back and forth on whether to grab one of these, so I’ve been reading threads like this to get a sense of what they actually look like in person. The visibility thing is part of what’s holding me up. On something like a white tablet, a small rectangle is going to show up no matter what, and I’m not sure I want a permanent mark on the back of a device I actually like the look of.

The other thing I keep wondering is what happens if you want to move it later. Adhesive stuff tends to either come off clean or leave a gummy patch, and I haven’t seen anyone mention which one this is. If it’s the second kind, that changes whether I’d put it on the device itself or just on a case.

Not trying to talk you out of it, just curious since you already committed. Did you stick it straight to the tablet or onto a case?

Probably looks like a sticker someone forgot to peel off.

I’ll probably just leave mine on and see how I feel about it in a week. If it still bugs me I can always peel it off and stick it on something else. Not really a big deal either way.
