Lisa HydrowMemberI’m still using an old pair of earbuds with a tiny case, and I’m thinking about switching to FitiBeats. The LCD screen on the case seems handy, but does it make the case feel bulky in your pocket? I usually just carry my earbuds in my jeans and don’t want something too big. Any input would be great.

northshoreParticipantThe screen is the whole reason the case isn’t tiny anymore. If you’re coming from one of those old pill-shaped cases you’ll notice it in your pocket right away. I’d rather have the battery readout than pretend it disappears, but a screen case was never going to feel like the old ones.

Lily___MemberThe screen part sounds useful but I’d probably never use it. My old case is small and I barely notice it in my pocket, so that’s the main thing keeping me from switching. Guess it depends how much you check battery.

MemberI don’t think it’s that bad. I switched from an old pair with a case about the size of a tic tac box, and the FitiBeats one is bigger, sure, but it’s not some brick in my pocket. I toss it in my jeans and forget about it until I need it. The screen is the main reason it’s bigger, but I actually use it more than I expected for checking battery. My old case died on me mid-walk more than once because I had no idea how much juice was left. This one shows it plain as day. So the extra size bought me something useful. If you’re stuffing it into that tiny fifth pocket, it might not fit. Regular front pocket is fine though.

RyanTParticipantI actually went the other way and keep mine in my bag instead of my jeans. The case is fine for that, but if pocket space was my main thing I’d probably stick with the old tiny ones.

MemberIt’s a bit thicker than those old tiny cases but I got used to it after a week or so. The screen is nice for checking battery without pulling my phone out. Doesn’t really bother me in jeans.

EthanFreeMemberMine rides in my jacket pocket mostly, so the size never bugged me. The part I actually noticed is that it picks up lint around the screen edges after a while.

MemberI’d probably just stick with the old ones if pocket space is the main thing for you. The FitiBeats case is fine but it’s definitely not something I forget is in my jeans. I use mine mostly at home so the size never really mattered to me.

MemberMy sister has the FitiBeats and I borrowed them for about two weeks when my old buds died, so I had the case in my pocket pretty much every day. I was expecting it to bug me since my previous case was one of those tiny ones that basically disappears, but it honestly wasn’t as bad as I thought. What I noticed is that the bulk is more about the shape than the size. It’s a bit wider and flatter, so it sits against your leg differently. The first couple days I kept checking if it was still there, but after that I stopped thinking about it. I actually liked having the screen because I could glance down and see the battery without pulling my phone out, which I ended up using way more than I expected. The one thing I’d say is that it does show up a little more if you wear tighter jeans, since it’s not the kind of case you forget about entirely. But for normal pockets it was fine for me. I ended up giving them back and going with my own pair, mostly because I wanted a different color, not because of the case. So if the screen appeals to you, I don’t think the size alone is a reason to skip it.

MemberThe screen makes it a bit chunkier than those old pill cases for sure. Mine still fits in jeans but I notice it more when I sit down. Not a dealbreaker, just something you feel.

Luis_A91MemberMine feels slimmer than the old pill case I had.

MemberI tried a friend’s pair for a couple days and the case didn’t really strike me as bulky in jeans. If anything the old pill cases were worse because they’d roll around. I’d say the screen is worth the slight extra size.

MemberI switched from an old pair last month and the case actually sits flatter in my pocket than my old one did. The screen part is stiff though, so if you’re someone who shoves keys in the same pocket you’ll feel it more. Still fits my jeans fine.

MemberI keep mine in a jacket pocket more than jeans, and it’s been fine there. In jeans it’s noticeable but not annoying for me. The screen is honestly the part I actually use, so I don’t mind the tradeoff.
