Probably a dumb question but I can’t find a clear answer. Does the Hewelth ReliefChain come with any charge out of the box or do I have to plug it in first? I just want to know if I can use it right away or if I’m waiting around for it to charge.

Mine had enough juice to run for maybe 15 minutes right out of the box, which was enough for me to decide I actually liked it. I still charge everything overnight before real use though, that’s just my habit with anything that has a battery.

I’d just plug it in first. Mine showed up basically dead and shut off partway through the first session, so that 15 minute thing definitely wasn’t my experience.

I’d still plug it in for a bit before the first session. Mine had a partial charge, but it dropped quicker than I expected once I started using the heat mode. Not a big deal, just easier to top it off first.

Mine actually came with a decent charge right out of the box, which surprised me since most rechargeable stuff shows up dead. I used it for a full session that first night without plugging it in and it didn’t die on me, though I wasn’t running heat the whole time either. That said, I still prefer to top it off before a long session just so it doesn’t quit halfway through. If you’re planning a short trial run to see how it feels, you’re probably fine to just go for it. If you want to do a longer session with heat, plugging it in for a bit first isn’t a bad idea. I never bother checking the manual for the recommended charge time, I just leave it until the light changes and call it good.

I wouldn’t bother waiting on a full charge. Mine actually had plenty of juice and I used it for a good half hour before it even showed low battery, so the whole thing is a non-issue in my book.

No clue why people are guessing at this. Mine came with enough charge to fire up and cycle through the modes right away, so yeah you can use it without plugging in first. Whether it’s full is another question. I just used it and charged it after.

Charging it first is probably overkill. If it turns on out of the box I’d just start using it and plug it in later when the battery actually drops. Waiting around for a full charge before you even know if you like the thing seems backwards.

I actually disagree with the whole “top it off first” thing. Mine turned on right away and I got through two evenings of use before the battery light even blinked at me. If it powers on when you unbox it, just use the thing and charge it whenever.

Mine came basically empty, so I plugged it in while I set up. Lasted a few sessions after that. Doesn’t take long to get enough for a first go anyway.

Mine needed charging, so no, not right away.

I’d plug it in while you read the manual, mostly because you don’t really know how long it’s been sitting in a warehouse. If it powers on right away, fine, but I’d still top it up before a longer session.

I went back and forth on this before ordering mine. My first thought was that a rechargeable device sitting on a shelf for who knows how long would probably arrive dead, so I almost bought a separate charger setup in advance. Then I read enough mixed experiences that I figured I would just deal with whatever showed up.

What changed my mind was thinking about how I’d actually use it. This isn’t something you wear for eight hours straight. If it needs a top-up before the first session, that’s a minor inconvenience, not a dealbreaker. I was treating it like a phone where a dead battery ruins your day.

The part I’m still unsure about is how much the shipping and storage time varies. Two units from the same listing could sit in different warehouses for different lengths. So asking “does it come charged” is almost like asking “how long was it in the box.” There’s no single answer.

If I do order one, my plan is to plug it in while I figure out the controls and read through the modes. That way I’m not just staring at it waiting. If it turns on immediately, great, I use it. If not, I’ve already started the process.

The question makes sense though. Nobody wants to unbox something and then wait around.

Mine showed up with enough juice to run for a bit, but the battery light dropped fast on the heat setting. If you want the full session you’re probably better off topping it up first.

The whole “let it charge first” thing is overblown. Mine powered on straight out of the box and I used it that same night. If it dies, plug it in. End of story.
