I’m thinking of getting a Breezi AC for my desk but I’m confused about the power part. Does it have to stay plugged into USB the whole time or can it run on its own for a bit? I just want to know if I can move it around without a cord. Not a big deal but I’d like to know before buying.

Mine only runs while it’s plugged in, so if you were hoping to carry it around cord-free that’s not happening. I still move mine between rooms but I just unplug and replug it each time.

I have one of these and it definitely needs to be plugged in the whole time. I got mine about two months ago thinking I could carry it around the house while I do stuff, and that part was a letdown. It just stops the second you unplug it. No hidden battery or anything. I even asked the seller because I assumed I was missing something, and they confirmed it’s USB powered only.

That said, once I got over that, I actually ended up using it way more than I expected. Mine lives on my desk next to my laptop and runs off a regular USB wall plug. I fill the tank in the morning, add a couple ice cubes if it’s really hot, and it keeps me comfortable through most of the workday. I do have to top up the water in the afternoon though, especially on the higher mist setting.

So if your main thing is moving it around cord free, this isn’t the one. But if you’re fine parking it somewhere and leaving it plugged in, it does its job for a small space. I was annoyed at first because the listing made it sound more portable than it really is, but for a fixed desk setup I’ve been happy with it. Just know you’ll always be near an outlet or a laptop.

Mine actually keeps running for a few minutes after I unplug it, which surprised me. It’s not long enough to carry it to another room, but I can move it around my desk without it cutting out right away. So it’s not totally useless cord-free, just very limited.

I’d skip it if you want cordless.

If it doesn’t have a battery listed, assume it needs the cord. That’s the whole answer. I don’t get why these listings are so vague about it, but I wouldn’t buy one expecting cordless use.

Needs the cord the whole time.

I’ve had one on my nightstand for about a month and it does fine without being moved around, so I don’t really get the whole cordless thing. If you’re just using it at a desk, plugging it into a laptop or wall brick is normal. That’s not really a downside for me.

I wouldn’t count on moving it around much. The cord is basically part of the setup unless you’re fine with a very short unplugged moment.

It’s a USB cooler, so yeah, it has to stay plugged in. Mine dies the second I pull the cord, no hidden battery in there. If you want to move it around freely, this isn’t the one.

Mine came with a short USB cord and that’s it, no battery inside. I actually tested it when I first got it because I was curious. Unplugged it and it just stopped, so no secret battery life there.

That said, I still like it. I keep mine on my little side table and it stays plugged into a power strip, which honestly works fine for me since I’m not carrying it around the house anyway. If you’re picturing taking it from room to room or out to a patio, that’s probably not happening unless you bring a power bank along. I’ve done that a couple times actually, plugged it into a portable charger when I wanted it near the couch, and it ran okay that way. Just depends if you already have one lying around.

So it’s not really a cordless gadget, more of a stay-in-one-spot thing. Still does its job for me though.

Mine actually surprised me because I expected it to be totally useless the second I unplugged it. I usually leave it plugged in at my desk, but one night I wanted to move it over to the couch while I was watching something, and it kept going for a little bit. Not ages, but enough that I got through most of an episode before it quit. So it’s not like it just dies instantly like some people are saying. Maybe there’s a small internal thing going on or maybe I just got lucky with mine. Either way, I wouldn’t plan on carrying it around all day, but a quick move to another spot in the same room worked fine for me. Is yours the newer version or the older one?

Bought mine expecting a battery, honestly didn’t even check before ordering. Plugged it in, unplugged it to move it to the couch, and it just stopped. No battery at all.

That said, I don’t really mind. It sits on my desk and stays plugged into a power strip with my monitor and phone charger. One cord in the mix doesn’t change anything for me. I’d rather it be lighter and cheaper than have a battery I’d forget to charge anyway.

If you actually want to carry it room to room, this isn’t that kind of product. It’s a desk thing. Mine’s been fine for a few months now, does what I need. Just know the cord is permanent, not optional.

The portability is kind of a stretch if you ask me, since it’s tethered to a cord the whole time. I keep mine plugged into a power bank when I want to move it, which works fine.
