MemberI’ve been using the Breezi AC on my desk during the day and it’s fine. But at night, even on low, the fan noise seems louder than I expected. Is it just me or does it get more noticeable when everything else is quiet? I usually need total silence to sleep, so this might be a dealbreaker. Anyone else notice this or am I being too picky?

MemberMine is on my nightstand and I still hear that low fan hum once the house goes quiet. Doesn’t bug me, but I get why total silence people would notice it more at night.

MemberIt’s not just you. Any fan noise gets way more noticeable at night when the room is dead quiet. If you truly need total silence to fall asleep, this kind of cooler probably isn’t going to cut it.

MemberFor me it’s the opposite, I actually sleep better with a little fan hum going, so the Breezi on low has been fine at night. Total silence would drive me nuts. But if you need dead quiet to sleep, that low fan noise probably isn’t going anywhere.

MemberI run mine overnight sometimes and the fan noise is definitely there on low. Doesn’t really change, you just hear it more once the rest of the house is asleep. If you need total silence it’s probably not the one for you.

MemberI’ve had mine since spring and I run it most nights, but I don’t think the fan itself gets louder after dark. It’s the same little hum, it just has nothing to compete with once the tv and traffic noise are gone. My fridge does the same thing, silent all day then suddenly the loudest appliance in the house at 2am.
I will say the mist mode is what I notice more at night. That soft sputter carries further than the fan does, and I usually switch it off before bed and just leave the fan on low. Might be worth checking which part of it is actually bugging you.
Total silence people are probably going to struggle with any little cooler though. Mine sits maybe three feet from my head and I sleep through it fine, but I also grew up with a box fan running. Different tolerances I guess.

Rachel ColeMemberMine’s the same. It’s quiet in a normal room but once the central air kicks off at night, that fan is the only thing left to hear. Doesn’t actually get louder, it just stops having competition. If you need dead silence, a fan of any kind is going to be a problem.

MemberI usually stick mine in the bathroom when I sleep since I need actual silence in the bedroom. The unit itself is fine, it’s just that any little motor hum gets under my skin once I’m trying to drift off.

MemberMine sits about three feet from my head and I only notice it once the fridge stops humming. Doesn’t get louder, my ears just have nothing else to grab onto. If you need dead silence, this thing probably won’t cut it.

MemberI actually find the sound kind of soothing in a weird way, which I know is the opposite of what you’re dealing with. For me the thing that made a difference was where I put it. I had mine on the nightstand right next to my pillow for the first week and the fan felt way more noticeable than I liked. Then I moved it across the room on my dresser and suddenly it just blended into the background. Same unit, same speed, but the distance really changed how much it bugged me. So it might not be that the Breezi got louder after dark, it might just be that having it right up close makes every little sound feel bigger when you’re trying to drift off. Worth playing around with placement before you write it off completely. Mine’s been fine since I made that switch.

Tom in NYCMemberNight shift here so my sleep schedule is already weird. The fan noise on mine is steady enough that I stopped hearing it after a week or two. Whether it beats your need for total silence, no clue, that part is on you.

MemberMine’s on my nightstand and I stopped noticing it after a couple weeks, but I also run a floor fan in the hall so there’s always some background noise in my place. Total silence would probably be a different story. If you truly need dead quiet, I don’t think any little fan is going to disappear completely.

Mike ReynoldsMemberEverything’s louder at night. That’s not the unit.

MemberMine definitely got more noticeable once I dropped everything else in the room. It’s the same sound, just no background noise covering it up. I ended up moving mine to the far corner and that made it fine for me.

MemberI run mine overnight too and I just leave the mist off. The fan on low is fine for me but the spray is what I actually hear.

MemberProbably just quieter room making it stand out.

Emma JarrisMemberMine actually got quieter over time, weirdly enough. First few nights I noticed it a lot, now I barely register it even with the room dead silent. Maybe my brain just tuned it out eventually.

MemberI use mine mostly for white noise actually, so the fan sound doesn’t bug me. But I get why total silence people would notice it more at night.

MemberFair enough, sounds like it’s just the quiet room making it stand out. I’ll mess with the placement and see if that helps me sleep. Not gonna keep chasing it though, if it still bugs me I’ll just use it during the day only.
