I finally tried using my Wood Ranger Power Leaf Blower to dry off the car after washing. It actually did a decent job getting water out of the mirrors and grille. Not bad for a quick cleanup, though you have to move fast with that 15 minute runtime.

It does okay for getting water out of the mirrors and tail lights, but I wouldn’t rely on it to dry the whole car. I just use mine to blast leaves out of the garage corners after sweeping. Works fine for that.

It sounds like a decent option for the smaller gaps, but I would be careful about using it too close to the car if there’s any loose dirt or dust still on the paint. That high-speed airflow can kick up particles you didn’t see. I’d rather just grab a towel for the main panels and save the blower for the tricky spots.

I’m not totally sure the 15 minute runtime is enough for a full car dry. Maybe if you’re just doing spot work.

I think 15 minutes might be enough if you’re just doing the trouble spots like mirrors and the grille, but drying the whole body seems like a stretch. Not totally sure how high you’d need to run the speed to get it done in time.

The 15 minute runtime is kind of a dealbreaker for me. I’d rather just grab a towel and be done in half the time.

I’ve used mine for drying door jambs and around the trunk seal and it worked fine for that. The 15 minutes is tight but it’s not like I’m standing there timing it. I’d say it’s fine if you’re not expecting it to do a full detail job.

Not really sure why this is such a big deal. It’s a leaf blower, not a detailing tool. It works or it doesn’t.

The 15 minute thing is a bit short, but for quick touch ups it’s not bad. I like mine for getting dust out of the garage corners too.

I guess it depends how much you care about a perfect dry. For a quick blast after a wash it’s fine, I’ve used mine to get the door sills and it works well enough.

I keep looking at these leaf blower drying threads and wondering if people are overthinking it. Fifteen minutes is enough to blast the mirrors, grille, and maybe the wheels if you’re quick about it. I’d want a second battery if I was trying to do the whole paint job though.

I’ve seen a few people mention using leaf blowers for drying cars, and it makes sense in theory if you’re already using it for the yard anyway. The 15 minute runtime seems like it’d be fine for a quick blow-off, but I’d probably just stick with a chamois to avoid having to recharge halfway through. Not really a big deal either way, just depends what you have handy.

I just use mine for getting leaves out of the flower beds. Never thought about using it on the car, honestly.

Not sure I’d rely on it for a full dry, but that’s more of a weekend detailer problem.
