Thinking of using a waterproof phone pouch every day since I bike to work in the rain. I like that it would keep the phone dry and safe, but worried it might kill touchscreen responsiveness and make calls awkward. I use fingerprint unlock and text a lot. Does a pouch work fine for daily texting/calls and unlocking or is it annoying?
Good for keeping phones dry, though touch can feel a bit dull and calls come out a bit muffled through the plastic.
I used one for a few months biking to work and left it on for quick checks. For anything longer like typing or unlocking I end up pulling the phone out because it’s just easier.
I use one every commute and it’s honestly good enough, keeps my phone dry so I usually just leave it on. Not perfect, but I wouldn’t ditch it.

I disagree, I think a pouch is fine for everyday use and hasn’t bothered me much. Calls and basic screen use are doable, maybe not perfect but not annoying. Not totally sure about fingerprint stuff though.
Works fine for me on the commute. Screen still responds well enough for texts, but fingerprint can be flaky so I sometimes pop it out to unlock. Calls are doable, not perfect but not a dealbreaker.
Call audio gets muffled through the plastic and it looks dumb holding a pouch to your ear. Fine for keeping it dry, but annoying if you take a lot of calls.
They’re not a big deal, I think most people just put up with them. Small thing: fingerprint sensors often don’t like the plastic, so maybe use face unlock or a PIN while you ride. Texting and calls usually work through the pouch, just a bit fiddly sometimes.
