I get that the Ryoko Pro is sold as a travel router, but I mostly just use mine at home or around town. The global roaming stuff is nice on paper, but I’m wondering if it’s overkill for what I need. Does the data saver mode actually help much if you’re not bouncing between countries?

I use mine mostly at home too, honestly. The data saver mode helps a bit when my main home internet goes down and I need to stretch the mobile data, so it’s not totally useless if you’re not traveling.

Data saver mode is whatever, I barely notice it day to day. The real reason I still carry mine is the battery, it lasts long enough that I don’t have to hunt for an outlet when I’m out. Global roaming is just a bonus I’ll probably never use.
