Been looking at the Qinux HydroXeltor as a quick solution for washing my car and maybe the patio. I get the no electricity thing is handy but I’m wondering if the water pressure from a regular garden hose is enough to actually shift dried on mud or road grime. Anyone tried it on a car that’s been sitting a while?

Tried one on a car that had been sitting for a few weeks. It got the loose dirt off alright but the dried on mud around the wheel wells needed more than just a spray. Pressure is better than a regular hose nozzle but it’s not magic. Fine for a quick rinse if you keep up with it.

Honestly, I think people overthink this. It’s just a fancy nozzle that concentrates the water stream a bit. It’s not going to match a real pressure washer for caked-on mud, but for a weekly wash it’s probably fine.

I picked one up mostly for patio cleaning and gave the car a quick rinse after. It did okay on light dust but I wouldn’t count on it for dried on mud.

I just use mine for a quick weekly rinse and it does fine, never tried it on heavy mud though. The pressure is definitely better than just a plain hose nozzle, but I wouldn’t expect miracles on stuff that’s been baked on for a while.

I just use mine for light stuff, so I can’t really speak for heavy dried on mud. But I will say the adjustable pressure ring is nice for switching between a wider spray and a more focused jet without messing with the hose tap.

Honestly, it’s a glorified nozzle. If your hose pressure is decent, it’ll shift light dirt fine. For dried on mud you’re better off just soaking it first or using a bucket. Not a big deal either way.

I get why people are curious but honestly it’s just a nozzle. If your hose pressure is weak it’s not gonna magically fix that.

I’ve seen a few people use it at the campsite for rinsing off gear and it seemed to do the job alright. For a car that’s been sitting a while, you’d probably want to soak it first anyway, regardless of what nozzle you’re using.

I think people are overestimating what a hose nozzle can do. If your tap pressure is already decent, it’s fine for maintenance washes. But if you’re expecting it to blast off caked on mud like a proper pressure washer, that’s not really what this is made for.

I’ve used mine on mud that was baked on for a few days and it came off fine after a quick soak. Works well enough for what it is.

I’m kinda on the fence about it too. I got one mostly for convenience and it’s fine for a quick rinse, but I wouldn’t count on it for heavy grime without presoaking. The pressure ring is neat but it’s still just water from the hose at the end of the day.

Pretty much what I figured, thanks for the replies. Sounds like it’s fine for what it is, just not a miracle worker for heavy grime. I’ll probably grab one for the convenience and keep my expectations in check.
