Been looking at the DashOne Pro for a while and the parking mode sounds useful, but I’m wondering if leaving it on overnight drains the car battery. I’ve got a pretty standard sedan, nothing fancy. Anyone have issues with that or is it fine with the motion detection setup?

Parking mode usually sips power more than you’d think, it’s not like leaving your headlights on. As long as you drive it regularly during the week you’ll be fine.

I’ve had mine for a few months and honestly haven’t noticed any battery issues in my sedan. I only drive a few times a week and it’s been fine, just make sure you’re not parking for like a week straight.

Honestly I think it depends more on your car than the camera itself. Some cars have 12V ports that stay live even when the engine is off, so that’s where the drain would happen. I don’t think the DashOne Pro pulls enough to be a problem unless you’re leaving it for days without driving.

I’ve been running parking mode on mine for about two months now and it’s been fine in my sedan. The motion detection seems to kick in only when something actually moves near the car, so it’s not constantly recording all night. I think as long as you’re not parking it for like a week straight without driving you’ll be okay.

The 200mAh backup battery is tiny so it’s not like it’s hammering your car battery all night. I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
